    Mistletoe

    Leroy Q. Mistletoe

    Mr. Velez Gonzalez, M.Ed.

    English 13

    29 February 2039

    How to Use MLA Format

When utilizing MLA format, your paper should look exactly like this one. At the top right,

you should have your last name followed by the page number, so that Mistletoe 1 appears on Pp.

1 and Mistletoe 2 appears on Pp. 2, etc. etc. Mistletoe 1 appears exactly a half an inch from

the top of the page and exactly one inch from the right of the page. Going down vertically, you

should only ever skip one space between every single line in your document, just like this example

shows. Below the page number, on the left hand side of your first page only, you should have your

name, then your teachers name, then the name of the course, then the date. Your name appears

exactly one inch from the top of the page. There should be only one blank space between each of

these items. Pay attention to the date; it should be constructed exactly as shown: day number,

month name, year. There is no punctuation between any of these items. All of this information is

one inch from the left side of the page.

Only one space is between the date and the title, which is centered and not in larger font or

boldfaced font or underlined font. Skip exactly one line between the title and the beginning of

your first paragraph. All paragraphs should be indented exactly a half an inch (which equals out to

one and a half inches from the left side of the page). Still, there should be only one space between

every line in the document; no extra lines should be skipped between paragraphs. Every single

letter or number on your document should be printed in Times New Roman font, size 12. The

body of your essay should have one-inch margins on all sides.

And now, because we learn through repetition, I will repeat everything that has already

been explained verbatim so that you may also see what the second page of an MLA formatted

    document looks like. Enjoy!
