    अफ बक्ति की व्माख्मा ॥१॥ Now explanation of Bhakti! (1)

    Sa Tva Asmin Parama Prema Rupa: [2]

    वह तो ईश्वय भें ऩयभ प्रेभ रूऩा है ॥२॥ That is highest love!

    Amrita Svarupa Cha [3]

    औय अभतृ स्वरूऩ है ॥३॥ That is transcendental love for the Lord. (3) Ya Labdhva Puman Siddho Bhavaty Amrito Bhavti Tripto Bhavti [4]

    (उस)े ऩाकय भनुष्म ससद्ध हो जाता है, अभय हो जाता है, तपृ्त हो जाता है ॥४॥ Finding which, a person becomes perfect. He becomes immortal. And satisfied too! (4)

    Ya Prapya Na Kinchid Vaanchati Na Sochati Na Dveshti Na Ramte Na Utsahi Bhavati [5]

  • (उसके) प्राप्त होन ेऩय न ककसी वस्त ुकी इच्छा कयता है, न शोक कयता है,न दे्वष कयता है, न ववषमों भें यभण कयता है तथा न ही ववषमों के प्राप्त कयन ेका उत्साह ही कयता है ॥५॥ Finding which, he desires nothing more or else. Neither grieves, nor hates. Neither Engages nor gets enthusiastic about anything else! (5) Yaj Gyatva Matto Bhavati Stabdho Bhavti AtmaRamo Bhavati [6]

    जजस को जान कय (बि) उन्भत हो जाता है, स्तब्ध हो जाता है (कबी) आत्भयभण कयन ेरगता है ॥६॥ Having known which, he becomes as if drugged, or lost. Stunned, surprised, and thus dwells in his self. (6)

    Sa Na Kamyamana Nirodha Rupatvat [7]

    ऩयभ-प्रेभ-रूऩा बक्ति काभना मुि नहीॊ है क्मोंकक वह ननयोधस्वरूऩा है ॥७॥ Transcendental Bhakti is desire less because it sacrifices all other desires. (7)

    Nirodhas Tu Loka Veda Vyapara Nyasah [8]

    रौककक कभों का त्माग ननयोध है ॥८॥ (कभम का त्माग तो नहीॊ ककमा जा सकता महाॉ अथम कभामसक्ति त्माग स ेहै) Having the nature of unconcern with the worldly affairs!(8)

    Tasmin Ananyata Tad-Virodhis Udaseenita Cha [9]

  • उस (न्मास, त्माग) भें (बगवान के प्रनत) अनन्मता तथा उस के ववयोधी ववषम भें उदासीनता को ननयोध कहत ेहैं ॥९॥ In that sacrifice (to the Lord), ‘faithfulness to One’, and ‘no attention’ to all those all desires except that of love for the Lord, is called ‘Nirodha’. (9)

    Anya Ashryaanam Tyago Ananyata [10]

    (एक प्रब ुको छोड़कय) अन्म आश्रमों का त्माग अनन्मता है ॥१०॥ Renunciation from all that hinders is whole hearted devotion.

    Lok Vedeshu Tad Anukul Acharanam Tad Virodhis Udaseenta [11]

    रौककक तथा वैददक कभों भें उस के (त्माग के) अनुकूर कभम कयना ही उस के (त्माग के) ववयोधी कभों भें उदासीनता है ॥११॥ ‘No attention’ means being in harmony with that sacrifice while doing worldly and religious duties. (11)

    Bhavatu Nischayadaardyaad Urdhvam Shastra Rakshanam [12]

    ऩयभ-प्रेभ-रूऩा बक्ति की प्रानप्त दृढ़ननश्चम हो जान ेके ऩश्चात बी शास्त्र यऺा कयनी चादहमे ॥१२॥ Even when the transcendental Bhakti is firm, the seeker should continue to follow the ancient scriptures. (12)

    Anyatha Patitya Shankya [13]

    (नहीॊ तो सॊस्कायों, वासनाओॊ के कायण) गगयन े की आशॊका फनी यहती है ॥१३॥

  • (Otherwise due to unconscious desires, impressions from past births) The possibility of fall remains. (13) Loko Api TavadEv Bhojan Adi Vyaparstva Shareer Dharanaavdhi [14]

    रोक फॊधन बी तफ तक ही यहता है, ककन्त ुबोजनादद व्माऩाय शयीय धायण ऩममन्त चरता है ॥१४॥ The connection with the world remains till then, but physical activities like eating etc will remain till the body. (14)

    Tal Lakhshanaani Vachyante NanaMatBhedaat [15]

    अफ नाना भतबेद स े(बक्ति) के रऺण कहत ेहैं ॥१५॥ Now the symptoms of Bhakti according to various opinions! (15)

    Pooja Aadishva Anuraga Iti Parasharya [16]

    ऩूजा आदद भें अनुयाग बक्ति है, ऐसा ऩायाशय (वेद व्मास जी) कहत ेहैं ॥१६॥ Bhakti is interest in worship etc, so says Parashar (Ved Vyas) (16)

    Katha Adishviti Garga [17]

    गगम जी के अनुसाय बक्ति, कथा आदद भें ( अनुयाग है ) ॥१७॥ According to Garg, (it is enjoying) the stories of the pastimes of the Lord. (17)

    Aatmaratya Virodheneti Shandilya [18]

  • शाजडडल्म के भतानुसाय, आत्भयनत का अवयोध बक्ति है ॥१८॥ (आत्भतत्व की ओय रे जान ेवारे ववषमों भें अनुयाग बक्ति है)। According to Shandilya, that which takes towards the Self is bhakti. (18)

    Naradaste Tad Arpit Akhilaacharta Tad Vismarne Param Vyakulateti [19]

    नायद जी के भतानुसाय अऩन ेसकर आचयण स ेउसी के सभवऩमत यहना तथा उसके ववस्भयण हो जान ेऩय व्माकुर हो जाना बक्ति है ॥१९॥ According to Narad, being absorbed in That with good intentions, and becoming anxious when That is forgotten, is Bhakti. (19)

    Asty Evam Evam [20]

    मह ही बक्ति है ॥२०॥ This is Bhakti. (20) Yatha Vraj Gopikaanaam [21]

    जैसे व्रज की गोवऩकाएॊ ॥२१॥ Like the Gopis of Brij. (It is said Gopis were the ancient Rishis who were born to enjoy love for Krishna as human) (21)

    Tatra Api Na Mahatmya Gyana Vismritya Apavada [22]

    उसभें (गोऩी प्रेभ भें) बी भाहात््म ऻान (ऩयभाथम ऻान) का अऩवाद नहीॊ था ॥२२॥

  • In that (Gopi's love), there was no contradiction of the universal knowledge (enlightenment). (22)

    Tad Viheenam Jaranaamiv [23]

    उसस ेववहीन (बक्ति), जाय बक्ति (हो जाती है) ॥२३॥ Bereft of that (love), it becomes dull bhakti. (23) Na Asteva Tasmin Tat Sukha Sukhitvam [24]

    उसभें (जाय प्रेभ भें) वह (ऩयभाथम) सुख नहीॊ है ॥२४॥ (That dull love) is not fulfilling. (24)

    Dvityo Adhyaye

    (Par Bhakti Mahatvam)

    Sa Tu Karma Gyan Yogebhyo Api Adhiktara [25]

    वह तो कभम, ऻान तथा मोग स ेअगधक शे्रष्ठ है ॥२५॥ It (transcendental Bhakti), is superior to paths of karma (selfless actions), Gyana( mystic knowledge) and yoga. (25)

    Phala Roopatvat [26]

    क्मोंकक बक्ति पर रूऩा है ॥२६॥ (सफ साधना इसके सरए ही हैं )। Because Bhakti is the fruit for which all practitioners are striving. (26)

    Iishvarasya Api Abhimaan Dveshitvaat Dainya Priyetvaat Cha [27]

    ईश्वय को बी असबभान स ेदे्वष बाव है तथा दीन बाव वप्रम है ॥२७॥ The Lord dislikes egoistic behavior, and prefers humility. (27)

  • Tasya Gyan Mev Sadhanam Ityeke [28]

    उसका (ऩयभ-प्रेभ-रूऩा बक्ति का ) साधन ऻान ही है, कुछ (आचामों) का भत है ॥२८॥ Some masters say that to achieve this Bhakti, Gyana (knowledge / meditation on the nature of the ‘I’), is the only way. (28)

    Ananyo Anya Ashryatvam Itya Anye [29]

    दसूये (आचामों) के भतानुसाय बक्ति तथा ऻान एक दसूये ऩय आधारयत हैं ॥२९॥ Others say that Bhakti and Gyana (knowledge ) support each other. (29)

    Svayam Phal Roopat Iti Bhrahm Kumara [30]

    ब्रह्म कुभायों (सनत ्आदद) का भत है कक बक्ति स्वमॊ पर रुऩा है ॥३०॥ The sons of Brahma (Sanatkumar etc), say that bhakti are itself the fruit (of spiritual practice). (30) Raj Grah Bhojan Aadishu Tathaiv Dhrishtvat [31]

    याज दयफाय भें तथा बोजनादद भें ऐसा ही देखा जाता है ॥३१॥ ( बूख दयू कयन ेकी इच्छा कोई नहीॊ कयता, बोजन कयन ेकी इच्छा कयता है) । This is seen in the royal court and food etc (no one eats to removes hunger – they eating because they feel like eating) (31) Na Ten Raja Paritosha Khuchantirva [32]

  • न उससे ( केवर ऻान स े) न तो याजा को प्रसन्नता होगी न (आत्भा की)बूख शान्त haeगी ॥३२॥ (Knowledge without love) Will not please the King, neither will it satisfy (the Soul's) hunger. (32)

    Tasmat Saiv Grahya Mumukhubhi [33]

    अत् (भुभुऺुओॊ को, फॊधन स े छुटकाये चाहन े वारों को) बक्ति ही ग्रहण कयनी चादहए ॥३३॥ Thus those who seek release (from Ignorance), should adopt Bhakti! (33)

    Trityo Adhyaye

    (Bhakti Sadhnani)

    Tasya Sadhanaani Gayanti Aacharya [34]

    उस (बक्ति) को प्राप्त कयन ेके साधन (उऩाम) फतात ेहैं ॥३४॥ Now the means to achieve Bhakti! (34)

    Tattu Vishya Tyagat Sanga Tyagat Cha [35]

    वह (बक्ति साधन ) तो ववषम त्माग तथा सॊग त्माग स ेप्राप्त होता है ॥३५॥ Bhakti is got by dropping interest in sense objects and by dropping (psychological dependence on) companionship. (35) Avyavrit Bhaganat [36]

    (अथवा) अखडड बजन स े॥३६॥ (Or by) non-stop Bhajan (singing for the Lord)! (36)

  • Loke Api Bhagvad Guna Shravan Keertanaat [37]

    रोक सभाज भें बी बगवद् गुण श्रवण तथा कीतमन स े॥३७॥ Listening and singing songs and praises of the Lord even in civic society. (37)

    Mukhyatastu Mahat Kripyaiv Bhagwat Kripaleshaad Va [38]

    भुख्मतमा भहाऩुरुषों की कृऩा स,े मा बगवद् कृऩा के रेश भात्र स े॥३८॥ (But chiefly) by the grace of the great souls, or by a mere hint of grace of the Lord! (38)

    Mahat Sangastu Durlabho Agamyo Amoghas Cha [39]

    भुख्मतमा भहाऩुरुषों की कृऩा स,े मा बगवद् कृऩा के रेश भात्र स े॥३८॥ (But chiefly) by the grace of the great souls, or by a mere hint of grace of the Lord! (39)

    Labhte Api Tat Kripaiva [40]

    भुख्मतमा भहाऩुरुषों की कृऩा स,े मा बगवद् कृऩा के रेश भात्र स े॥40॥ (But chiefly) by the grace of the great souls, or by a mere hint of grace of the Lord! (40) Tasmins Tat Jane Bheda Abhaavaat [41]

    क्मोंकक बगवान तथा उसके बि भें बेद का अबाव है ॥४१॥ Because there is no difference between the Lord and his pure devotees! (41)

  • Tdev Sadhyatam Tdev Sadhyatam [42]

    (इससरए) उसकी ही साधना कयो, उसकी ही साधना कयो ॥४२॥ Therefore, practice only this, only this. (42)

    Dussanga Sarvaithava Tyaajya [43]

    दसुॊग सवमदा त्माज्म है ॥४३॥ Companionship of lower minds is always worth getting rid of. (43)

    Kaam Krodh Moh Smriti Bhransh BuddhiNaash Karantvaat [44]

    ( कुसॊग) काभ, क्रोध, भोह, स्भनृतभ्रॊश, फुवद्धनाश एवा सवमनाश का कायण है ॥४४॥ Companionship of the unwise, anger, sensuality, attachment, corruption of memory, destruction of intelligence; these destroy everything. (44)

    Trangita Apeeme Sangaat Samutraayante [45]

    मह (काभ क्रोध भोह आदद ) ऩहरे तयॊग की तयह आकय सभुद्र (की बाजन्त) हो जात ेहैं ॥४५॥ (फहुत जल्दी भन को घेय रेत ेहैं ) । These (sensuality, anger etc) come like a little wave and soon become like the ocean (capture the mind quickly). (45)

    Kas Tarati Kas Tarati Maayam Yah Sanga Tyajti Yo Mahaanubhavam Sevate Nirmamo Bhavti [46] He who crosses Maya! He who really crosses Maya! He who gives up all attachments to sense-objects! He who serves the great devotees! And he who renounces all sense of possession in himself. (46)

  • Yo Vivikta Sthaanam Sevate Yo Lok Bandham Unmoolyati Nistrai Gunyo Bhavti Yoga Kshema Tyajati [47]

    जो ननयजन स्थान का सेवन कयता है, रौककक फन्धनों को तोड़ देता है, तीनों गुणों से ऩाय हो जाता है तथा जो मोग औय ऺेभ का त्माग कय देता है ॥४७॥ (जो प्राप्त न हो उसकी प्राप्ती को मोग औय जो प्राप्त हो उसके सॊयऺण को ऺेभ कहा जाता है, अथम है न कुछ ऩान ेकी इच्छा न ऩाए हुए को फचाए यखन ेकी इच्छा ) । He who lives away from crowds, who breaks worldly ties, is free of the three modes of nature and he who drops craving for that which he does not have, and does not try to defend those possessions which he has. (47)

    Ya Karma Phalam Tyajti Karmaani Sanyssyati Tato Nirdvindvo Bhavti [48]

    जो कभम पर का त्माग कयता है, (वह) कभों का बी त्माग कय देता है, तथा ननद्वमन्द्व हो जाता है ॥४८॥ He who drops results of his actions, such a person has dropped actions as well, and becomes free of conflicts.(48)

    Yo VedanApi Sanysyti Kevalam Avichinna Anuraagam Labhte [49]

    जो वेदों का बी त्माग कय देता है, केवर तथा अववजच्छन्न अनुयाग ही यह जाता है ॥४९॥ He who even drops the Vedas (ancient scriptures), and just diffused love remains. (49) Sa Tarati Sa Tarati Sa Lokans Taaryati [50]

  • vh n kevl Svy< par haeta hE ANywa dUsrae kae -I par krvata hE,

    …Not only he crosses, crosses indeed. Instead, he helps others to cross as well. (50)

    Anirvachniyam Prem Svaroopam [51]

    प्रेभ का स्वरूऩ अननवमचनीम है ॥51॥ (फतामा नहीॊ जा सकता) । True nature of love is inexplicable. (51)

    Mooka Svaadanvat [52]

    गूॊगे के स्वाद की तयह ॥५२॥ Like the taste felt by a mute! (52)

    Praashte Kvaapi Patre [53]

    ककसी (मोग्म ) ऩात्र भें प्रकासशत होता है ॥५३॥ It is illustrated in some rare student.

    Gun Rahitam Kamna Rahitam Prati-Kshan Vardhamaanam Avichinnam Sookshamtaram Anubhav Roopam [54]

    मह (ऩयभ-प्रेभ-रूऩा बक्ति) गुण यदहत है, काभना यदहत है, प्रनत ऺण फढ़ती यहती है, सूक्ष्भतय है तथा अनुबव रूऩ है ॥५४॥ This (transcendental love) is free of worldly qualities, free of desire, increases all the time, is hard to discern, and is experienciable.

  • Tat Prapya Tdev Avlokati Tdev Shranoti Tdev Bhashyati Tdev Chintyati [55]

    उस (ऩयभ-प्रेभ-रूऩा बक्ति) (शक्ति) को प्राप्त कय, (प्रेभी बि) उसी को देखता, उसी को सुनता, उसी की फात कयता, तथा उसी का गचन्तन कयता है ॥५५॥ Once the seeker knows that; sees only that, talks only of that, hears only that, and thinks only of that.

    Gauni Tridha Gun Bhedaad Arta-Aadi Bhedaad Va [56]

    गौणी बक्ति गुण बेद स,े तथा आतामदद बेद स ेतीन प्रकाय की होती है ॥५६॥(ताभसी मान ेद्बी, याजसी मान ेकुछ ऩान ेके सरए, साजत्वकी मान े गचत्त शुद्ध कयन े के सरए। आतमबक्ति जगत बोग स ेभुक्ति के सरए, अथामथी प्रब ुको प्राप्त कयन ेके सरए, जजऻास ुप्रब ुको ऩान ेकी तीव्र इच्छा- सॊमभ की जस्थनत स ेवैयाग्म तक ऩहुॉचा ) । Worldly Bhakti is of three kinds (Tamsic is egoistic, Rajasic is to get something, Sattvic is to clean the mind). Uttarasmad Uttarasmat Poorva Poorva Shreyaaye Bhavti [57]

    ऩूवम क्रभ की बक्ति उत्तयोत्तय क्रभ स ेशे्रमस्कय होती है ॥५७॥ (साजत्वक याजससक स ेइत्मादद )। (In these) there are superiorities (Swattvic better than Rajasic etc)

    Anya Maat Saulabham Bhaktau [58]

    अन्म की अऩेऺा बक्ति सुरब है ॥५८॥ Compared to others, (transcendental) Bhakti is rare.

  • PramaanAantarsyaanApekhshavaat Svayam Pramaantvaat [59]

    बक्ति स्वमॊ प्रभाण रूऩ है, अन्म प्रभाण की आवश्मिा नहीॊ ॥५९॥ (Transcendental) Bhakti is itself the proof. What other proof can be required?

    Shaanti Roopat Parma Aanand Roopa cha [60]

    बक्ति शाजन्त तथा ऩयभानन्द रूऩा है ॥६०॥ Symptoms of Bhakti are peacefulness and transcendental bliss. LokHanau Chintaa Na Kaaryaa Nivedit Atma Lok Vedtvaat [61]

    रोकहानन की गचन्ता न कयें क्मोकक रौककक तथा वैददक (सबी कभों को ) प्रब ुको ननवेदन कय देता है ॥६१॥ Don't worry about loss of worldly status because the seeker has sacrificed all actions (worldly and religious), to the Lord.

    Na Tat Siddhau Lok Vyavharo Heye Kintu Phal Tyagaat Tat Saadhanam Cha [62]

    (ऩयन्त)ु जफ तक ससवद्ध प्राप्त न हो (तफ तक ) रोक व्मवहाय हेम नहीॊ है ककन्त ुपर त्माग कय कभम कयना, उसका (बक्ति का) साधन है ॥६२॥ Till perfection is not gained, seeker should not abandon the worldly duties, but offer the fruits of actions to the Lord – this is the practice of Bhakti. (62)

    Stri Dhan Naastika Charitram Na Sravaneeyam [63]

  • स्त्री, धन , नाजस्तक तथा वैयी का श्रवण नहीॊ कयना चादहए ॥६३॥( स्त्री शब्द स ेवासना का प्रतीक है) । Women (i.e., sensuality), money, atheists (or materialists) and enemies; such topics should be avoided. (63)

    Abhimaan Dambha Aadikam Tyaajyam [64]

    असबभान, द्ब आदद का त्माग कयना चादहए ॥६४॥ Egoism, pride etc should be dropped. (64)

    Tad Arpit Akhilaachar San Kaam Krodha Abhimaan Aadikam Tsminnev Karneeyam [65]

    सफ आचाय बगवान को अऩमण कय देने ऩय बी मदद काभ क्रोध असबभानादद हों तो उन्हें बी बगवान के प्रनत ही कयना चादहए ॥६५॥ All activities should be for the Lord. Even then if sensuality, anger, pride etc arise, then they should be offered to the Lord. (65)

    Tri Roop Bhanga Poorvakam Nitya Daasya Nitya Kaanta Bhajanaatmakam Prem Karyam Premaiva Kaaryam [66]

    तीन रूऩों को बॊग कय, ननत्म दास अथवा ननत्म कान्ता बक्ति स ेप्रेभ कयना ही कामम है, प्रेभ कयना ही कामम है ॥६६॥ (तीन रूऩ का अथम स्वाभी, सेवा औय सेवक, मा वप्रमतभा, वप्रमतभ तथा प्रेभ)। Getting rid of the ideas of owner, service and servant; thinking of oneself as the timeless servant or lover of the Lord, this is true duty, this is true duty. (66)

    (Mukhya Bhakti Mahimaa)

    Bhakta Ekaantino Mukhyaa [67]

    एकान्त बि ही भुख्म (शे्रष) है ॥६७॥ ( एकान्त - जजसका प्रेभ केvर बगवान के सरए हो ) The lonely seeker (whose sole love is for the Lord) is the best. (67)

    Kanthaavrodha Roma Aashrubhi Parasparam Lapmaana Paavyanti Kulaani Prithveem cha [68]

    (ऐस ेभहाऩुरुष ) कडठावयोध, योभाञ्च तथा अश्रऩुूणम नेत्रों से ऩयस्ऩय स्बाषण कयत ेहुए अऩन ेकुरों तथा ऩथृ्वी को ऩववत्र कयत ेहैं ॥६८॥ (Such great souls) With choked voices, with ecstasy, with tear filled eyes - they communicate and bless their clan and purify the earth. (68) Teerthi Kurvanti Theerthaani Sukarmee Kurvanti Karmaani Sat Shastree Kurvanti Shaastraani [69]

    (ऐस ेभहाऩुरुष ) तीथों को सुतीथम, कभों को सुकभम तथा शास्त्रों को सत ्शास्त्र कयत ेहैं ॥६९॥ (Such great souls) Make the holy places holy, actions into auspicious actions, and scriptures into timeless testimony. (69)

    Tanmayaa [70]

    वह तन्भम है ॥७०॥ (उसभें प्रब ुके गुण ऩरयरक्षऺत होन ेरगत ेहैं )। (Such great soul) is transcendental (the Lord's qualities start shining through). (70)

  • Modante Pitro Nrityanti Devatah SaNaatha Cheyam Bhur Bhavti [71]

    (ऐसे भहाऩुरुष के होन ेऩय )वऩतय प्रभुददत होत ेहैं, देवता नतृ्म कयन ेरगत ेहैं तथा ऩथृ्वी सनाथ हो जानत है ॥७१॥ (On the appearance of such a great soul), departed ancestors rejoice, Devas (demi-gods) dance, and the earth gets living parents. (71)

    Na Asti Teshu Jaati Vidya Roopa Kul Dhan Kriya Aadi Bheda [72]

    उन भें जानत, ववद्या, रूऩ, कुर, धन तथा कक्रमादद का बेद नहीॊ होता ॥७२॥ They do not differentiate between status of birth, education, clan, wealth and activities. (72)

    क्मोंकक सबी बि बगवान के ही हैं ॥७३॥ Because all devotees love the One Lord! (73)

    Vaado Naavlambyah [74]

    वाद वववाद का अवर्फ नहीॊ रेना चादहए ॥७४॥ Debates and arguments should be avoided. (74)

    Bahulya Avakaashatvaaad Aniyatattvaa cha [75] क्मोंकक फाहुल्मता का अवकाश है तथा वह अननमत है ॥७५॥( वववाद बक्ति के सरए नहीॊ , प्रनतष्ठा के सरए होते हैं )। Because they are not for any holy purpose, they are only for ego and pride. (76)

  • Bhakti Shastraani Manneeyaani Tad Udbodha Karmaani Karneeyani [76]

    बक्ति शास्त्रों का भनन, तथा उदफोधक कभों को कयना ॥७६॥ Read the Bhakti scriptures, and carry out auspicious actions. (76)

    Sukha Dukha Iccha Labha Aadi Tyakte PrateekshyaMaane Kshana Aardhamapi Vyartha Na Neyam [77]

    सुख दखु, इच्छा, राब, आदद का त्माग हो जाए, ऐस े सभम की प्रतीऺा कयत ेहुए आधा ऺण बी व्मथम नहीॊ गवाना चादहए ॥७७॥ That happiness, unhappiness, desire, profit etc be dropped (before starting Bhakti) – one should not waste even a moment waiting for such things to happen. (77)

    Ahinsa Satya Shaucha Daya Astika Aadi Charitryaani Paripaalneeyaani [78]

    अदहॊसा, सत्म, शौच, दमा, आजस्तकता, आदद का ऩरयऩारन ॥७८॥ Peacefulness, truth, cleanliness, compassion, belief in scriptures etc – these should be obeyed. (78)

    Sarvada Sarva Bhaaven Nischintai Bhagwaaneva Bhajaneeya [79]

    सवमदा, सवमबावेन, ननजश्चन्त, बगवान का ही बजन कयना चादहए ॥७९॥ Always, in all emotions, free of cares, sing of the Lord. (79)

  • Sa Keertyamaan Sheeghram Eva Avirbhavti Anubhaavyati Bhaktaan [80]

    वह (बगवान) कीनतमत होन ेऩय शीघ्र ही प्रकट होत ेहैं तथा बिों को अनुबव कया देते हैं ॥८०॥ On being sung about the Lord appears in a short time, and provides the experience to the seeker. (80)

    Tri Satyasya Bhaktir Eva Greeyasee Bhaktir Eva Greeyasee [81]

    तीनों सत्मों भें बक्ति ही शे्रष्ठ है ॥८१॥ ( सत्म स्वरूऩ प्रब ुको भन वाणी तथा तन स ेबक्ति ही प्राप्त कया सकती है )। Among the three truths Bhakti is the best. (Three truths are mind, speech and body) (81)

    एक होत ेहुए बी (बक्ति ) ग्मायह प्रकाय की है । गुणभहात््मासक्ति ( जगत को बगवान का प्रकट रूऩ जान कय उसभें आसक्ति), रूऩासक्ति ( इजन्द्रमातीत, चतैन्मस्वरूऩ, आनन्दप्रद, सत ् रूऩ भें आसक्ति), ऩूजासक्ति, स्भयणासक्ति, दास्मासक्ति (स्वमॊ को प्रब ुका दास भान कय), साख्मासक्ति (प्रब ुसफके सभत्र हैं ऐसा जानकय उसभें आसक्ति), कान्तासक्ति(एक प्रब ु ही ऩुरुष हैं, फाकक सफ वप्रमतभा हैं), वात्सल्मासक्ति(प्रब ुको सन्तान भान कय ), तन्भमासक्ति (प्रब ुभें तन्भम , उनस ेअसबन्नता का बाव ),आत्भननवेदनासक्ति (प्रब ुभें

  • सवमस्व सभऩमण कय देन े भें आसक्ति )। ऩयभववयहासक्ति (प्रब ु स ेववमोग का अनुबव कयके, उनस ेऩुन् सभरन के सरए तड़ऩ के प्रनत आसक्ति)। ॥८२॥ Even though the experience of Bhakti is one, Bhakti is practiced in eleven ways , viz, Gunamahatmyasakti (love

    in the world accepting the world as the manifestation of the Lord), Rupasakti (loving the Lord's quality of Consciousness-Bliss-Truth), Pujasakti (loving worship), Smaranasakti (loving the remembering of Lord), Dasyasakti (love the Lord as the master), Sakhyasakti (loving the Lord as the friend of all), Kantasakti (loving the Lord as the only Man, accepting all others as His lovers), Vatsalyasakti (loving the Lord as one's child), Tanmayasakti (loving oneself as being non-different from the Lord), Atmanivedanasakti (love of surrendering all to the Lord). Paramvirahasakti (recognizing one's separation from the Lord, being desperate for reunion)! (82)

    Itevam Vadanti Jana Jalpa Nirbhyaa Ek Matah Kumar Vyaas Shuk Shaandilya Garga Vishnu Kaundinya SheshodhVaruni Bali Hanumad Vibheeshana Aadyo Bhaktyaacharya [83]

    सबी बक्ति के आचामम, जगत ननन्दा से ननबमम हो कय, इसी एक भत के हैं। (सनत ्) कुभायादद, वेदव्मास, शुकदेव, शाजडडल्म, गगम, ववष्णु कौक्तडन्म, शषे, उद्धव, आरूणण, फसर, हनुभान, ववबीषण ॥८३॥

    All the (ancient) practitioners of Bhakti, being fearless of the world, agree on these. (Ancient practitioners are) (Sanat Kumar brothers etc, Ved Vyas, Shukdev, Shandilya, Garg, Vishnu, Kaudinya, Shesh, Udhhav, Aaruni, Bali,

    Hanuman, and Vibhishan. (83)

  • Ya Idam Naarad Proktam Shivaanushaasanam Vishvasiti Shradhte Sa Bhaktimaan Bhavti Sah Preshtam Labhte Sah Preshtam Labhte [84]

    जो इस नायद कगथत सशवानुशासन भें ववश्वास तथा श्रद्धा यखता है वह वप्रमतभ को ऩाता है, वह वप्रमतभ को ऩाता है ॥८४॥ He who believes this discipline of Shiva, narrated by Narad, and has faith in it, he gets the Beloved, and he gets the Beloved. (84)
