ENGLISH Singular and Plural Rule 3 (a)- For a word ending with a ‘consonant’ and a ‘y’, we drop the ‘y’ and add ‘ies’ to get the plural form. Example: baby- babies, lady- ladies Rule 3 (b)- For words ending with a ‘vowel’ and a ‘y’, we add ‘s’ to get the plural form. Example: key- keys, boy- boys, tray- trays

The word ‘daisy’ ends with ‘s’ which is a consonant, and ‘y’

The word ‘tray’ ends with ‘a’ which is a vowel, and ‘y’
