छठ पूजा आस्था और विश्िास का महापिव है जो मखु्य रूप से बिहारमें मनाया जाता हैबिहार के अलािा यह पिव पूिी उत्तर प्रदेश, झारखंड, नेपाल के तराईक्षेत्र में भी मनाया जाता है ।छठ पूजा चार ददनों तक मनाया जाना िाला आस्था का महापिव हैं।इस पूजा की शुरूआत कार्त वक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष के पष्ठी से शुरूहोती है ।प्रथम ददन- नहाय खायदसुरे ददन- खरना / लोहान्डातीसरे ददन- सधं्या अर्घयवचौथे ददन – उषा अर्घयव और पारण के साथ इस महापिव की समाप्ततहोती है।

Chhath Puja is a mahaparva ( great festival) offaith and tradition which is mainly celebrated inBihar. It is also celebrated in eastern UP,Jharkhand, Delhi, and Terai of Nepal. Itcelebrated on the sixth day of ‘Kartik Mas’ andcontinues for four days.First Day - Nahai Khay (Bath & Eat) :Vrattis ordevotees take a bath in the river , pond or anyother water body and wear new clothes.Peoplecarry water home and with this water they cook‘Prasad’ of pumpkin, bottle gourd and moongchana dal. Second Day - Kharna / Lohanda: On Panchami, vratti observe fast for the whole day.Theydonot eat anything not even a drop of waterbefore the sunset.The whole day is spentpreparing for the festival and in the evening aspecial Prasad called Rasio-kheer andchapattis is prepared.with this prasadbanana, radish, green ginger, bettle leavesspices are offered to Chhathi Maiyya.
Third Day - Sandhya Argh: the whole day isspent in resting and preparing offerings.onthis day Vratti sit on ghat and worship thesetting sun. Folk songs are sung that showsthe social culture of India.
Fourth Day - This Mahaparava ends with UshaArghya and Paran.The fourth day is considered the most auspiciouswhen the final morning ritual or ‘Bihaniya Arghya’is performed. The devotees with their family andfriends congregate on the bank of the river tooffer ‘arghya’ to the rising Sun. once the morningritual is over , devotees break their fast by takinga bit of ginger with sugar

History of Chhath Puja

3. महाभारत के अनुसार, दानवीर किय सूर्य का पुत्र था और िततददन सूर्य की उपासना करता था। कथानुसार, उसने सबसे पहले सूर्य कीउपासना शुरू की थी। वह िततददन स्नान के बाद नदी में जाकर सूर्य को अर्घर्य देता था।
According to the Mahabharata, Danveer Karna was the son of Surya and worshiped the sun daily. According to the legend, he first started worshiping the sun. He would go to the river after bathing daily and offer arghya to the sun.

4.एक पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, राजा प्रिर्वद तन:सतंान थे, उनको इसकी पीडा थी। उन्होंने महप्रषय कश्र्प से इसके बारे में बात की। तब महप्रषय कश्र्प ने सतंान िाजतत के ललए पुत्रेजटि र्ज्ञ करार्ा। उस दौरान र्ज्ञ में आहुतत के ललए बनाई गई खीर राजा प्रिर्वद की पत्नी माललनी को खाने के ललए दी गई। र्ज्ञ के खीर के सेवन से रानी माललनी ने एक पुत्र को जन्म ददर्ा, लेककन वह मतृ पैदा हुआ था। राजा प्रिर्वद मतृ पुत्र के शव को लेकर श्मशान पहंुचे और पुत्र प्रवर्ोग में अपना िाि त्र्ागने लगे।
