Currently working as a Junior Research Fellow at IITB our group is developing
an open source tool for 3D scientific visualization of weather data called as
Mayavi2. The visualization obtained would be used for weather predictions.
Distributed Diagnosis and Healthcare using Content Based Image Retrieval
Advisor: Dr. Niranjan U. C. [Director of R & D, Manipal Dot Net Pvt. Ltd.]Description:
The work included development of a web based system using which a doctor can
submit a medical image query from a remote location using a web browser. The
server then finds similar past cases using CBIR techniques and sends the result
back to the client. It aids the doctor in reviewing a present case effectively.
A Decision Tree Based Approach for Medical Image Retrieval using Haralick
Texture Features and Shape Measures for Frontal Chest X-rays
Center for Soft Computing Research, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata
Advisor: Dr. D.P. Mandal [Associate Professor, CSCR, ISI Kolkata], Dr. BChanda [Professor, Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit, ISI Kolkata]
Description:
The work basically deals with identification of suitable image features for
classifying a medical image query into a suitable class of disease.
Classification and Retrieval of Music Files using Query by Humming
Description:
Various methods of developing query-by-humming systems were investigated and
finally a technique called as Dynamic Time Warping was applied for music
retrieval from a database using query in form of a hum.

Embedding Voice Commands in Windows XP Operating System
Description: A tool was developed using which the user can control a number of
operations like invoking programs, menus etc by means of a command issuedthrough a microphone.
Portable and secure encryption system for transfer of files over Bluetooth
Description: Using the secret key provided by the user 32 bit primitive irreducible
polynomial is generated which is then used to simulate a 31 stage Linear
Feedback Shift Register which in turn produces random bits of data continuously.
These bits of data are XORed with the bits corresponding to the file to be
encrypted. The encrypted file than can be transferred to a mobile device viaBluetooth. At the receiving end using the same key and procedure decryption can
be done.
