Sgt Venal's abundant initiative and personal drive continually elevates the entirecommunications platoon. His dedication to excellence and enthusiastic leadership madehim a valuable asset to the battalion and the 24th MEU while deployed. Sgt Venaleffectively led Marines from all elements of the MEU aboard USS New York to providenetwork and helpdesk services to over 3000 Marines. He has set an impeccable example tofollow, which Marines throughout the MEU continued to emulate day in and day out evenafter the deployment concluded. His charismatic attitude has fostered an atmosphere oflearning, and created a well rounded knowledge pool in the battalion's data shop. MRO isa must for retention, and enthusiastically recommended for promotion.Directed Comment: Sect A, Item 6a: MRO was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal foroutstanding service in the billet of Data Chief for the period of April 2011 to January2013.

Sgt Venal is one of the top Sergeant's within the battalion. Very proficient onknowledge, strong work ethic, and high motivation, he makes an excellent example forjunior Marines to follow. Good initiative and communication skills. A problem solver,he creatively searches for solutions to challenging issues. Highly recommended forpromotion and retention.
