Features and Functions

Double Transceiver Unit (DTRU). A single cabinet can support

up to 12 carriers. It can smoothly evolve into WCDMA

Diversity transmit ,Four diversity receiver

Support Power Boost Technology (PBT)

Support more various transmission mode includes E1, STM-1,

microwave, and satellite transmission

All the external cables are introduced into the cabinet through

the bottom of the cabinet. A space with 200 mm height is

reserved for the cabling, which greatly facilitates the

maintenance

Features and Functions

The BTS3012AE provides two storage battery cabins: –48 V 150 AH cabin

and –48 V 50 AH cabin. Under S4/4/4 site configuration, the internal 200

AH can supply power for four hours when the traffic volume is in normal

level. The external storage batteries can provide up to 600 AH power.

Under S4/4/4 site configuration, the external storage batteries can supply

power for more than four hours when the traffic volume is in normal level

Supporting 110 VAC dual-live power input, 220 VAC single-phase power

input, and 220 VAC three-phase power input. The BTS3012AE supports a

wide range of voltage and frequency

Having complete battery management and environment monitoring

functions

BTS3012AE Cabinet and Board

The –48 V 50 AH storage cabin of the BTS3012AE can be

removed to form a 7 U space with the reserved 2 U space. This

space can be used to accommodate transmission equipment

or other equipment of the operators

Figure (A) lists the full configuration of the BTS3012AE under

the combination of 150 AH + 50 AH + 2 U

The BTS common subsystem performs the following functions:

Managing and controlling other subsystem and modules.Importing E1 sig

Controlling the Remote Electric Tilt (RET), and transmitting the signals fro

m the TMA to the BTS through the feeder cable

The signal protection subsystem performs the following functions:

Functions of DDPU

The DDPU is intermixed with the DCOM in the DAFU subrack

of the forepart of RF subsystem. It is indispensable. Generally,

the number of DDPU is one at least and three at most. Without

the DCOM, there can be at most six DDPUs

Sending multi RF signals from the transceiver in the DTRU to t

he antenna through the duplexer

.When we cannot establish a proper connection with the E1 (Look in to LIU)1. Make sure the patching was already finished

2. Ensure that the E1 is mapped to the correct port from the MUX and BSC.

3. Check weather bit errors exist.

4. If transformers are available, check the connections

5. Check the E1 connectors. Make sure they are correctly fixed.

6. Check the DTMU and dip switches are correctly set.

7. Replace the E1 cable.

Cannot make calls even though site is on air

1. Make sure E1 is OK

2. DTMU,DTRU,DDPU power up.

3. Check the version of the DDPU and they must be same with

the omc

4. Check whether there are alarms in the DTRU,DDPU.

5. If the signals can be seen in MS, check whether the site was

defined in MSC

6. Reset the BTS.

1. Check the frequencies from omc.

2. Are there other GSM antennas in the tower.

3. Check whether the feeders are connected correctly (No

Alarms not reported

Door alarm.

Check the NMPI connection of the door sensor.

Make sure the serial connection of the two door sensors.

Check if the connections of the door sensor is wrong.

Remove the cables from the door sensor and short circuit.

Remove the door sensor.

Power alarms.

1. Check the configurations are OK.

2. Check if the DPMU is faulty. (If no alarms reported)

Common DDPU Problems

DDPU type mismatch

This alarm is present when the type of the DDPU is not the

same as the omc configuration. There fore check whether

DDPU type (P-GSM,E-GSM,RGSM)

CDU AFRCN Band mismatch

This also comes due to the above reason. The carrier

frequency must be matched with the DDPU type.

P-GSM uses 1-124, E-GSM uses 1-124 & 975-1023, R-GSM

uses 1-124 & 955-1023
