Chief Ministers & Governors List 2019 (Updated) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Goa. Former IAS officers Girish Chandra Murmu and Radha Krishna Mathur will take his place as Lieutenant Governors of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. respectively. ❖ Pavan Kapoor, a 1990 batch Indian Foreign Service officer took charge as the new

Ambassador to UAE. Ambassador Pavan Kapoor replaced Navdeep Singh Suri. 1990

Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan -O-Cha inaugurated this summit at IMPACT

ten member countries that encourages political,economic and social co-operation in

❖ The 38th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2019 was inaugurated by

Sharjah. Nearly 1800 exhibitors from 77 countries are participating in the Fair. The fair

will showcase 987 activities presenting scientific, knowledge and literary themes.

❖ In Lebanon, Prime Minister Saad Hariri has announced his resignation due to massive

anti-government protests over political corruption and economic turmoil. लेबनान में,

❖ The second edition of the annual joint military exercise, named as Dharma Guardian

between Indian and Japanese Army concluded in Mizoram. The primary focus of this

joint military exercise was to train and equip the contingents in counter-insurgency

and counter-terrorism operations in mountainous terrain. भारतीय और जापानी सेना के

Solar Alliance's (ISA) Framework Agreement at its second Assembly held in New Delhi.

❖ The US has formally notified the UN of its withdrawal from the 2015 Paris climate

accord, a landmark global agreement which brought together 188 nations, including

❖ The 9th round of India Bangladesh Friendship dialogue concluded in Cox's Bazar with a

appealed for greater collaboration between North-Eastern states of India and

❖ Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled two new IT Initiatives - ICEDASH and

ATITHI for improved monitoring and pace of customs clearance of imported goods and

facilitating arriving international passengers. वित्त मंत्री वनमषला सीतारमण ने आयावतत

माल की सीमा शुल्क वनकासी की बेहतर वनगरानी और अंतराषष्ट्र ीय यावत्रयो ंको सुवििा प्रदान

❖ The 15-day Aadi Mahotsav, National Tribal festival will be held in New Delhi from 16th

November 2019. The theme of the festival is a celebration of the spirit of tribal

culture, craft, cuisine and commerce. More than one thousand tribal artisans from 27

❖ Indian Army is holding the first Army Recruitment Rally in Jammu and Kashmir after

the creation of the Union Territory. The ten-day Recruitment Rally through Army

Recruitment Office, Jammu, commenced at Samba and will continue till 12th of

November. भारतीय सेना कें द्र शावसत प्रदेश के वनमाषण के बाद जमू्म और कश्मीर में पहली

सेना भती रैली आयोवजत कर रही है। सेना भती कायाषलय, जमू्म के माध्यम से दस वदिसीय

भती रैली, सांबा में शुरू हुई और 12 निंबर तक जारी रहेगी।

❖ The first-ever India-Uzbekistan joint military exercise - Dustlik-2019 began from 4th

November 2019 at Chirchiq Training Area near Tashkent. The exercise will be focused

on counter-terrorism and will continue till November 13. During the exercise, an

Indian Army contingent will train along with Uzbekistan Army. पहली बार भारत-

उजे्बवकस्तान संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास - दस्तवलक-2019 4 निंबर 2019 से ताशकंद के पास

वचरवचक प्रवशक्षण के्षत्र में शुरू हुआ। अभ्यास आतंकिाद-रोिी गवतविवियो ंपर कें वद्रत होगा

❖ India's National Academy of Letters, Sahitya Akademi has published an anthology

called 'Modern English Poetry by Younger Indians' to mark 200 years of Indian English

poetry. Edited by poet Sudeep Sen, the book contains pieces of poetry by poets

who're in their 40s or less. भारत के राष्ट्र ीय सावहि अकादमी- सावहि अकादमी ने

❖ The Reserve Bank has imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on prepaid payment instrument

Oxigen Services. The move was taken in exercise of powers vested under Section 30 of






the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, for non-compliance of regulatory

guidelines. Oxigen Services facilitates payment processing and money transfer
