Artist’s Statement:

I am a visual artist and art activist, live and work in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I expose myself to celebrate life, live simply

and, travel light in my journey. I refuse to engage in consumerist lifestyle and work only for pleasure and self-

realization.

My artistic practice is engaged with the architectural and mythological history and the effect of consumerism on

urban landscapes. I have also produced site-specific artworks that examine and deconstruct the relationship

between spaces. The aim of my artwork is to discover the secret relationship of nature with its inner self.

Everything which exists in this world is a part of nature. In the point of natural aspect my artworks are emotional

and always carry logical views. The abstraction of the relation goes beyond the collaboration of energy sources.

The form of object which I use in my artworks plays its energy based on its vibration level. These forms are able to

covert to other forms of energy entity, which shows the imitation of energy conversion.

I believe an artist is a student of his surroundings. So I use to collect art food from my daily life leading steps. Social

issues touches me, I feel responsible for this. I feel responsible myself as an artist, to create something else

regularly. I realize I do art in every single second of my life, because I do believe I am an artist. Also I am able to be

contempt with my limitations.

Artworks:

1.

Detail of the work:

‘Memory reading and finding silver routes’ Scroll painting 41 feet x 41 inch, 2015

This Painting was done in my recent artist in residency in Salina, KS. I drew the route spontaneously,

(where I am from, my favorite places, my sorrow, etc) the routes which I can read easily from my

memory. So I tried to get familiar with new places and drew the path, connect them to each others,

added remarkable objects on the painting, which represent the specific memory and time.

triangle indicates the growth and the whole work shows a shape of woman organ, which represent our

land as our mother.

A Shape of Knowledge-1, 60x32 inch, Relief Process, SBPS, Dhaka, BD, 2015.

This art work was nominated for Asian Biennale 2015. We do not measure the limit of our

knowledge. Though there is a lot of exams and examiners to judge the quality of knowledge,

shape of knowledge, depth of knowledge etc. So the image Shape of knowledge represents the

BOGUS BOO of endless knowledge, where the knowledge is always being questioned by nailing.
