    Mobile Communications technologies

Mobile communication allows transmission of voice and multimedia data via acomputer or a mobile device without having connected to any physical orfixed link. Mobile communication is evolving day by day and has become amust have for everyone. Mobile communication is the exchange of voice anddata using a communication infrastructure at the same time regardless of anyphysical link.

Mobile devices can be enabled to use a variety of communicationstechnologies such as:wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) - a type of wireless local area network technologyBluetooth - connects mobile devices wirelessly

'third generation' (3G), global system for mobile communications (GSM) andgeneral packet radio service (GPRS) data services - data networking servicesfor mobile phones.

Digital systems were embraced by consumers for severalreasons.* The lower powered radio signals require less battery power, sophones last much longer between charges, and batteries can besmaller.

    * The digital voice encoding allowed digital error checking whichcould increase sound quality by reducing dynamic and loweringthe noise floor.* The lower power emissions helped address health concerns.* Going all-digital allowed for the introduction of digital dataservices, such as SMS and email.

Capacity with increased usage of wireless network, demandincreases with capacity for data services.Limited band width 2G support data rates of 9.6-14.4 kbps.Since the radio channels are used to support only voice services, capability of supporting high data rate was limited

Limited roaming capabilities Since multiple AIR-Interfaces areused(such as GSM, IS-136) they are not compatible with eachotherLimited support for packet data As the data communication isintermittent and busty, this lead to inefficient usage of radio andnetwork resourcesNo Multimedia 2G does not support multimedia protocol

3G refers to the third generation of mobile telephony

technology. The first commercial 3G network was launched in2001 in Japan. Among the newest network technology formobile phones is the 3G network. 3G telephones work on boththe GSM and CDMA networks.

3G technology features very fast transmission of the mobilesignal. 3G Wide Brand Wireless Network is used with whichthe clarity increases and gives the perfection as like that of areal conversation. The data rates for the 3G are a minimum of2Mbps for stationary mobile users and 384Kbps for movingsubscribers in downlink.

    1. The customers will get a high speed network for their communication which is far

better than the 2G technology, particularly in data communication.

    2. The customer will get wireless broadband.

    3. Customer can see video or satellite based programs like TV programs using this

    technology.

    4. Customers can use all the facilities at same time.

    5. It may also be cheap than the other traditional media we are using, as a result ofprice war.

    6. The many in one services will be available at the same network. Due to use of theDTH & the 3G technology, everyone will use this multi-purpose services to avoid time loss and keeping recordsfor different service

    1. High costs (the technology and the maintenance are moreexpensive than the ones in 2G networks, reflecting in higherend-consumer prices)

    2. Base stations need to be closer to each other (again morecost).

    3. Bigger mobile phones (due to increased power consumption, batteries need to be larger, which makes the whole deviceslook not very appealing to consumers used to small & slim 2Gterminals)

    4. many users have experienced problems with 3G connectionsin certain areas. For example, if you live in an area where th3G connectivity is officially low (or non-existent), then youwill not be able to benefit from its full services

The first thing you require is a device (e.g. a mobile phone) that i3G compatible. This is where the name 3Gphone comes from - a phone that has 3G functionality; nothing tdo with the number of cameras or the memory ithas. An example is the iPhone 3G.3G phones commonly have two cameras since the technologyallows the user to have video calls, for which auser-facing camera is required for capturing him/her videoimages.

Unlike Wi-Fi, which you can get for free in hotspots, you need tobe subscribed to a service provider to get 3Gnetwork connectivity. We often call this kind of service a data plaor network plan. In India, you need to takea connection from 3G providers like Airtel, Vodafone , Reliance et.

    1. To enhance the mobile communication the GSM specificationused is the 2G for voice and 3G communications is used formobile users to have communication over voice too.

    2. The data rate for GSM is 270Kbps and 3G will give youstandard speed of 2Mbps for users at one place and384Kbps to remote and isolated users.

    3. To have multiple access technology GSM will use TDMA andFDMA whereas on the other side 3G will use the variations of

the CDMA technology combining WCDMA, CDMA2000,CDA2000 1X EV-DO.

    Servey on airtel

Actual speed of 2g 256 1.5 kbps and actualspeed of 3g is 7.2 mbps.

In 3g there is no buffering.

3g is more secure than 2g because of high speedinternet.

In india 3g is first launch in south in madras in jan2011.

Airtel is also supporting idea and vodafone.

Now days, to make more comfortable, easy, f lexible andcompact to the electronics systems or computers thecontinue research is going on.

As a result frequently the new technology is beingintroduced and previous technology becomes outdated. To survive in the world we are forced to adapt these newtechnology, otherwise we will be far behind than ourcompetitors. As the world is running fast, we have to run with it's speed to save our self.If we are not adapting the new introduced technology, then we can not survive in the fast running world
