PROPHET LUT (‘a)

Long ago, in a land near Palestine, there was a town called Sadum. This place was so beautiful that everyone who visited it was dazzled by its beauty. The people here were very prosperous and worked very hard. However they did not like any travelers to visit their town. One day, Shaitan came to the town in the form of a man and taught the people some bad things.

After a few years, nobody dared to visit Sadum. If they happen just to pass by, the people of Sadum would throw stones at them and make fun of them. They were known for their bad deeds. Thus, Allah sent Prophet Lut (‘a) to guide them.

Prophet Lut (‘a) would preach to the people and try to guide them to the right path. He taught them about what Allah had commanded. But they continued with their bad deeds and did not listen to him.

Lut (‘a) was a farmer and sometimes went out of town for his work. One day, he noticed three young men coming towards him. Lut (‘a) and his daughters did not recognize these men. They had never seen them before. They came to Prophet Lut (‘a) and asked him where Sadum was.

Lut (‘a) told them that the people of Sadum were not good but the three young men insisted on going there. Prophet Lut invited them to stay at his house. They thanked him for his kind offer.
