    Chairmans Message:-

The corporate landscape is undergoing several sweeping changes and Indian companies

across sectors have begun to pursue growth both within the country as well as overseas.

Today, as India competes in an increasingly globalized economy, the Godrej Group is

ready to play a major role in the Indian growth story.

At Godrej, we have always successfully competed with MNCs in India and abroad and

kept the spirit of enterprise alive. This has been possible for various important reasons. The

Godrej name is synonymous with trust. It is a well-documented fact that trust lowerstransaction costs, corruption, and bureaucracy. Thus, trust is a source of significant

    competitive advantage to us.

I firmly believe that our highest standards of corporate governance, modern

management and use of cutting edge technology and long-term, performance-focused

strategies will be the key drivers in future years.

    Milestones:-

Ardeshir Godrej (1868-1936) was the first Indian manufacturer to displace wellentrenched foreign brands from the market. The word GODREJ, etched into the metal of

his locks, became a symbol of self-reliance for the generations that followed.

With each new product Ardeshir changed perceptions of industry in India. He

produced the first finest security equipment, and stunned the world by creating soap from

vegetable oils. What started as a dream had become a movement, but it was left to another

    man to carry it forward.

On 7th May, 1897, Ardershir Godrej gave up law and took up lock making. Godrej

and Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., was established at Lalbaug, Mumbai. This was the holding

company of the Godrej Group. On 3rd March, 1932, it was incorporated with limited liability.

Even though Boyce was a business partner for a limited period only, his name was retained

for legal purposes. To know more about Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.

The Godrej Name displaced well established foreign brands from the Indian market.

The name 'Godrej' engraved into the shiny metal of the Godrej Locks came to be known as

a symbol of self reliance, trust-worthiness, assertiveness and progressiveness for a new

    generation of Indians.

Ardeshir Godrej's relentless quest of self-reliance made him explore newer avenues

of opportunities. Manufacturing Soap was one of them. In the year 1918, Godrej Soaps

Limited came into being. In 1920, he revolutionized the Soap industry by manufacturing the

first toilet soap purely from vegetable oils. Before that, animal fat was used in soap

manufacture. For his achievement, Ardeshir Godrej was bestowed with praises from India

    and from foreign lands too.

The Company celebrated its centenary in 1997. In 1897 a young man named Ardeshir

Godrej gave up law and turned to lock making. Ardeshir went on to make safes and security

equipment of the highest order, and then stunned the world by creating toilet soap from

vegetable oil. His brother Pirojsha Godrej carried Ardeshir's dream forward, leading Godrej

towards becoming a vibrant, multi-business enterprise. Pirojsha laid the foundation for the

sprawling industrial garden township (ISO 14001-certified) now called Pirojshanagar in the

suburbs of Mumbai. Godrej touches the lives of millions of Indians every day. To them, it is

a symbol of enduring ideals in a changing world.

    Incorporation

under the Indian Companies Act, 1913.

    RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

    Universe:-

The research work was accomplished in Jaipur, so Jaipur is my Universe.

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

    38/74

    Duration of the project:-

I had worked in organisation with 45 days (MAY to July)

    Object of the study:-

The objective of the study that is, PROJECT ON NEED ANALYISIS & PROMOTION OF

SECURITY EQUIPMENT IN HOSPITALS, RELIGIOUS & RESIDENTIAL PLACES.

After this I design the method of data collection. Primary data was

collected by Questionnaire, Observation & Personal Interview & Secondary Data collected

by the websites. Then I decided how much sample I needed for the research work. I

collected 20 sample. Then I decided how to process and analyse the data after complete

these work I found some conclusion. On the basis of these conclusions I gave my

    suggestion to the company.

    Research

Research defines as a scientific and systematic search for pertinent information on aspecific topic. In fact Research is an art of scientific investigation.

Research is a careful investigation or inquiry especially through search for new facts in

    Any branch of knowledge.

Redman and Mory define research as a systematized effort to gain new knowledgeResearch is an academic activity and used in a technical sense.

According to Clifford Woody Research comprises defining and redefining problems,

formulating hypothesis or suggested solutions, collecting, organizing and evaluating

data, making deductions and reaching conclusions and at last carefully testing the

conclusions to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis

    Types of Research

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

    39/74

Methods used of research:- For research I choose descriptive and diagnostic

    research study method.

Title of the Study: - need analysis promotion & security equipment

    Sampling

A process used in statistical analysis in which a predetermined number of observations willbe taken from a larger population. The methodology used to sample from a largerpopulation will depend on the type of analysis being performed, but will include simplerandom sampling, systematic sampling and observational sampling.

The sample should be a representation of the general population.

    Method of sampling: Random sampling

Sampling Unit: - The Sample unit was the hospital, religious and residential places

where I accomplished my training programme.

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

    40/74

    Sample Size:-Sample size was 50.

    6. Research Instrument:- A complete Questionnaire prepared on the basis of Need

of Security Equipment in Hospitals, Religious & Residential places in present scenario. The

Questionnaire designed keeping the following points in mind.

    Is the Question required?

Has the responded experienced the situation describe in the question?

Will the respondent part with information voluntary?

Can a single Question be fragmented into small but multiple questions for

    better understanding?

Are the questions very easy to understand to the respondent?

Are the question very conveniences to analysis the need of the respondent

    regarding security equipment?

    7. Data Collection: - Since the study undertaken by me is descriptive research, I have

concerned on primary data through survey and collection of secondary data through various

    websites including Godrej and books.

(a)Primary Data: - Primary data are those, which are collected afresh and for the

first time, and thus happen to be original character.

    (b) Secondary Data:- Secondary data are those which have already been collectedby someone else and which have already bee n passed through the statistical process.

    Scope & Significance

The study of Need analysis promotion of security equipment offers a new perspective forevaluating the security necessities in different categories of sectors. The study enables the

organization to know the actual condition of market & requirement of the different market

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

players. The study was conducted by Personal Interview & Survey method, which included

questionnaire, responses for each question with the respect to the sample are studied &

then respective percentages are calculated. This study also proves to be beneficial for

evaluating the needed products for the sites categorize. To the researcher the project

supplemented the theoretical knowledge of the research by providing him an opportunity to

understand the application of marketing research concepts and there practical implications.

    Limitation of the Research

The researcher tried to make the research work as accurate & authentic as possible.

However the following constraints were still unavoidable:

The information provided by the respondents on which all the results were drawn

cannot be denied that here was always a possibility of response error.

The respondents were in segments so the time taken to interview with them was too

    much.

The study was conducted within a time frame work of two months duration only.

The respondents feel reluctant about the survey conducted.

Secondary data could not be fully utilized because of difficulty in assessing it.

    Suggestion

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

    63/74

The Company should advertise its Security equipment as a result customer

    would aware about security solution.

Today Price based competition is skyrocketing so if it is possible that

Company cut down its security equipments price.

During the survey I got the demand of Bullet proof door so I would like to

suggest to the company provide these type of security solution.

The sales & marketing officer of the company should regular visit to theseplaces so they can easily get the requirement of the customer regarding

    security solution.

Company should promote its security equipment through canopy.

Company should do mall activities once in a week because it is necessary

to promote the high involvement security product.

    CONCLUSION

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

    65/74

At the time of survey it was found that some of the Hospitals, Religious &

Residential places owners using these security equipment and some are not. All the

hospitals, religious & residential places owners who are using any type of SecurityEquipment, they all are really appreciate the GODREJ Security Equipment product and

implemented in their places. I felt so wonderful to see the brand loyalty of the customer

towards the product of GODREJ SECURE.

GODREJ Security Equipment was related to the middle upper segment. We

found most of the customers who purchase this Security Equipment were highly satisfied

with the performance of the product as well as services which are providing by the

company. We found only few complaints regarding GODREJ SECURE because the

company is careful about their commitment; we also found that the company got

tremendous response from the customer side.

The demand of the Security Equipment is become aggressive after the serial bomb

blast in Jaipur on 13th May 2008. The sale of Security Equipment was so much high as

    compare ordinary days.

After completion of analysis we come on conclusion that maximum respondents

wants to secure their self from the various threats. On the basis of respondents I found that

only manpower is not sufficient to prevent any kind of threats, so most of the respondents

like to use both manpower and security equipment to secure their self. Most of hospital,

religious & residential places still using both kinds of security measure against various

    threats.

Majority of the respondents (53%) think that burglary/theft is high fear in their

running life. To protect their self from the burglary/theft threat they are using burglary alarm

system, video door phone and safes and they are quite satisfied with their security solution

    performance which they are using.

As far as to protect the record/cash is concerned from the threat of fire maximum

respondents using safe personal safe rather than bank locker and mechanical safe.

  • 8/2/2019 ROSHAN LAL SAINI

    66/74

From the threat of fire which is common threat world wide so to protect their self they

generally (78%) using Fire extinguisher and very few of them using fire alarm system. As

far as their satisfaction is concerned (82%) of respondents are satisfied with this

    equipment.

Security measure against terrorism is concerned most of the respondents are using

CCTV Cameras, some of respondents using door frame metal detector and rest of the

respondents not using any type of security solution against Terrorism. And their satisfaction

level towards the equipment which are using is 86%.

When I asked to the respondents that what else security threats could be possible

according to their perception then I got following threat Rites, Incoming of unknown person,

Pickpocket, Fear of danger animals and some of the respondents could not suggest about

    other kind of threats.

If we talk about their budget that how much they can spend to prevent their self

    against,

    Less than 5000/-

    5000/- to 10000/-

    10000/- to 15000/-

    More than 15000/-

The project has been successfully completed and it is helped us to understand the

mindset of the respondents and the ways that an organization should follow to always retain

    their customers.

This project can help the organization to get clear insight about the customer taste

and preferences. Thus helping the organization to exist successfully in the business

    environment.
