Saccharomyces cerevisiae fungaemia in anelderly patient: case report

A 94-year-old woman developed hospital-acquireddiarrhoea, presumably due to Clostridium difficile.Treatment was started with oral Saccharomyces boulardiicapsules [Florastor, dosage not stated] and vancomycin.She subsequently developed a low-grade fever, andSaccharomyces cerevisiae was isolated in blood cultures[time to reaction onset not stated].
