This letter is to confirm that Mr. Samarjit Kar was previously employed with Satyam Computer Services Ltd., now
known as Tech Mahindra; as DEVELOPER. He has joined our operations 10 July 2006 to 12 August 2009 as a full
time employee for approximately 40 hours per week.
Roles and Responsibilities:
He was into Capabilities and Migration project: The aim of the project was to consolidate customer care and billing
of all Consumer and SMB mobile products onto the one IT platform and build an Integrated Data Warehouse (IDW).
Requirement Analysis – Requirements gathering from the customer. Understanding the telecom industry
domain knowledge and the business functionality. Understanding the Project Requirements Specification
document and the High Level and Detail Level design documents for the design and development of the
Teradata data warehouse and the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process to load the data warehouse.
Feasibility Analysis – Analyze the warehouse implications of the changes requested by the client and the
impact to reporting.
Coding and Unit Testing – Coding the ETL solution using Teradata SQL, Bteq Scripts etc., for the end to end
ETL application and carrying out data migration activities in multiple test environments.
Worked extensively in Teradata SQL including creation of views, macros and functions incorporating the
entire business logic.
System Integration Testing – Testing the overall ETL process to verify that the entire data flow starting from
the Operational Data Sources till the end user reports is as expected and without bugs. Tested the Extract
Transform and load (ETL) process in SIT environment. Extracting the data from the flat files and loading the
same into the actual tables with the help of transformation rules. It required high level of testing to check
whether operational source data was being correctly processed.
Defect Resolution – Fixing the bugs/defects that arise from Unit Testing and System Integration Testing.
Debugging the bugs at System Integration Testing (SIT) phase and logging and updating through Test
Director.
