We as a team of dedicated mentors are trying to help the children to reach their maximum potential. I appreciate the efforts of the teaching staff who has helped the Vidyalaya to reach such heights. AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL Ms Nandita Sanyal (Headmistress) Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sec-VIII R.K.Puram is committed to achiev- ing excellence by enhancing educa- tional opportunities for all stu- dents. In our Vidyalaya we try to create an environment where all students feel a strong sense of be- longingness. The Vidyalaya sup- ports the delivery of inclusive edu- cation by providing quality services to students. The Vidyalaya is dedi- cated towards the all round devel- opment of every child irrespective of the limitations s/he faces. With the support of the special educa- tors in the Vidyalaya along with the teachers who continuously take care of all needs of the children, every child gets an equal opportu- nity to grow and to develop oneself without any inhibition. In this process the children also get sensi- tized to accept the diversity in the society around them. ANNUAL SPORTS DAY CELE- BRATIONS The vidyalaya celebrated its An- nual Sports Day on 9th of Novem- ber. The events for primary stu- dents started from 1-8 November . Students got a chance to display their talents and perform in vari- ous games and sports activities. After the events winner were dis- tributed prizes and certificates by Principal Ms Kuldip Kaur. Her presence and words of encourage- ment were enough to light up the spirits of the young athletes of the Vidyalaya.

To give specific learning ex-

perience beyond the boundary

of the school, students were

taken for educational trips to

various places. Classes I-II

visited Doll Museum and

Children’s Park at India Gate.

Class III-IV visited the his-

toric Red Fort and Class V

visited National Science Cen-

tre at Pragati Maidan. These

kind if experiences are very

important for students as they

get concrete knowledge of out-

side world. This is an attempt

to take learning outside the

boundaries of the school. Stu-

dents enjoyed the Trips and

learned many new things.

EXCURSION

Grandparents Day was cele-

brated in the vidyalaya prem-

ises on 16-11-12. This pro-

vided an opportunity to recall

the contributions of senior

members to the society and to

show our love and respect to-

wards them. The celebrations

started with the lighting of lamp by

the senior most grand parent along

with the Principal, Vice Principal

and Headmistress of the Vidya-

laya. Various cultural activities

were organized for the guests. The

grand parents were very enthusias-

tic about the programme. They

took part in the games and also

shared their experiences with the

children.

GRAND PARENTS’ DAY

Learning in e-Classrooms

In the Vidyalaya, one section from each class has been developed

as e-classroom to enhance the learning experiences of the stu-

dents. Blackboards have been replaced with interactive white

boards. Use of technology in class is not only beneficial for stu-

dents but convenient for teachers also. Students can now enjoy

live pictures from the internet, interactive worksheets and power-

point lessons in their classrooms. Learning has really become joy-

ful for them.

1. Hindi Calligraphy competition was held on 1-09-12.

2. Hindi Poem Writing competition was held on 26-09-12.

3. Hindi Poem Recitation competition was organized on 28-09-12.

4. Hindi Spell Bee competition was held on 06-10-12.

5. Excursions for classes 1-5 were organized from 10-12 October 2012.

6. Group Song competition was held on 18-10-12.

7. Rangoli Competition was held on 03-11-12.

8. Diya Decoration Competition was held on 03-11-12.

9. Bal Mela was celebrated on 08-11-12

10.Grand Parents Day was celebrated on 17-12-12.

11. Mr Ashwani Kumar Sharma & Mr A.M.A. Ansari attended workshop on e-

content development and evaluation.

12. Ms Sunita Mishra got C.V. Raman Science award for teaching from Ministry

of Science and Technology.

13. Ms Nandita Sanyal( HM) & Ms Vijendra Meena attended 2nd spell of inser-

vice courses in December 2012.

14. A workshop on inclusive education was organized on 06-12-12

15. Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January.

16. Scouts and Guides Day was celebrated on 22-02-13

17. Summative Assessment– II Examinations started from 06-03-13.

18. Result for the session was declared on 28-03-13.
