    2/7

Lord Brahma said ,fire is Cosmic Lords mouth , the origin of voice, and the seven tissues of His body are the source of vedic hymns

while His tongue is the relisher of sacred oblations to gods and manes..

    SB 2.6.2

Life breath and the air outside represent his nose and his power of olfaction doesRepresent the fragrant medicinal herbs of longevity and related As'vin demigods

    SB 2.6.3

His vision indeed, is the source of all of forms and illuminations

His eyes are like the sun and the heavenly planets of the universe

His ears hear from all sides and are receptacles for all the Vedas,

And Lo! His sense of hearing is the source of sound. of all kinds

    SB 2.6.4

His cosmic form constitutes the fountain of all wealthsand opportunities and is also the field where the fruits

of ones works ,are reaped while His skin of moving airsforms the touch that leads to all kinds of holy offerings.

On any planet, specially earth, the terrain is His skin, a source of wealth, auspiciousAnd ,the lush greenery , where available, are his body hairs for apt sacrifices

SB 2.6.5On any planet, specially earth ,the vegetation, where available, are hairsOn his body , apt for sacrifices, while hairs on head is cumulo nimbusand his nails are the mineral stones, ores and even lightning of the skies

    SB 2.6.6

His arms, as Gods and demigods,Secure n protect the general mass.

    SB 2.6.7

    3/7

His steps shelter the upper, lower and heavenly planets,His lotus feet serve as solace for all kinds of fear and hopes

    SB 2.6.8

The source of water and the regenerative fluids arise from His genitalsThat offer happiness in union for creating farm produce and offsprings

    SB 2.6.9

Oh Nrada, the seat of Yama, the deity of death is the anal orifice of the Cosmic Lordand of Mitra, is at His rectum where envy, misfortune, death and hell are remembered.

    SB 2.6.10

Frustration, immorality and ignorance again, reside in his adorable anal orifice

while the rivers and streams make for His veins n the mountains for His bones.

    SB 2.6.11

The unmanifest part of the Lord is the abode of great oceans, and His belly is waitingplace for the souls, His heart is the abode of the subtle , say the sages ,of living beings

    SB 2.6.12

His soul is the abode of righteousness and religiosity of yours, mine and of sagesSanat Kumaras ,also it is the eternal seat of Truth and Spiritual light and bliss

    SB 2.6.13-16

Beginning from me ,Brahm, down to you and Bhava Lord iva, all the great sageswho were born before you, the demigods, the demons, the Ngas, the human beings, the birds, the beasts, as well as the reptiles, etc., and all phenomenal manifestationsof the universes, namely the planets, stars, asteroids, luminaries, lightning, thunders,

and the inhabitants of the different planetary systems, namely the Gandharvas, Apsars,Yakshas, Rakas, Bhutaganas, Uragas, Pasus, Pitas, Siddhas, Vidydharas, Caranas, and all other different varieties of living entities, including the birds, beasts, trees

and everything that be, are all covered by the universal form of the Lord at all times, namely past, present and future, although He is transcendental to all of them always

eternally existing in a form not exceeding nine inches in his aboriginal measures.

  • 7/29/2019 Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 2.Ch 6

    4/7

    SB 2.6.13-17

As sun spreads its rays illumines and creates internal vitality and strength all sidesthe expansion of the Universal Form also vitalizes from both the inside and outside

    SB 2.6.18

He is the abode and controller of eternal life and fearlessness , to death, transcendental ,And of the fruitive duties of anyone and so, Nrada, His glories are thus immeasurable

    SB 2.6.19

Know that the a fourth of the Supreme Being is the reservoir of all beings and of prosperitywhile Eternal life ,prosperity and refuge for all is beyond the three- worlds and materiality

    .SB 2.6.20

The rest three fourths of Him is the place for those who will never be reborn.Within ,three -worlds, heaven, purgatory and hell, are for those to- be -rebornWho do not strictly follow the vow of celibacy being attached to life mundane

    SB 2.6.21

Thus the Maintainer rules over the devotion of the nescient onesAs well as the ones enlightened, and thus both, as master, He runs

    SB 2.6.22

Very much as the Absolute evolved from its primitive embryo to its gigantic proportionswith elements n senses qualitatively, He is aloof from manifestations, like sun n its rays.

    SB 2.6.23

I had nothing, when I was born from the lotus flowerlike ethereal- sprout

Off His navel than the limbs of the Cosmic Person to do sacrifices best

    SB 2.6.24

Sacrifices to Him needs animals , flowers and leavesauspicious time,an altar and the sacred Darbha Grass*,

    * Halfa Grass

    SB 2.6.25

Also Utensils, grains, ghee for fire ,honey,'gold , hearth', water, the vedic scripturesand at least four officiating persons are required for this, oh my son, pure n pious !

    SB 2.6.26

It also involves the invocation of holy names and mantras and the settlingof tithe to priests, taking oaths concerning the specific godhead presidingAnd for the purpose of each of them there is a particular vedic injunction .

    SB 2.6.27

To progress to the ultimate goal I thus organized these essential ingredients ,which of course belong to the body of the Lord so as to complete my sacrifice

    SB 2.6.28

Thus well-equipped I worshiped, engaging with all the ingredients, the expressionsof the Original Person, the Supreme Personality, the original enjoyer of all sacrifices.

    SB 2.6.29

Following my example, Narada, your divine brothers, the nine mastersof beings, offered sacrifice for His manifest and non-manifest personalities.

SB 2.6.30Thereon, schools of demigods including Manus, the fathers of mankind, from

whom the name man* came in due course ,did worship to please Him,and so did then, sages, forefathers, scholars, asuras, and mankind at all time

    * authors addition

    SB 2.6.31

By the will of Lord Narayana, the Godhead, all these great manifestations,

accepted the illusion of form in the universe, found their universal dutiesin creation, maintenance and dissolution, though Lord is in self-sufficience .

    SB 2.6.32

So according to His will, I create while under His subordination Siva dissolvesHe Himself acts thereto as the Unified Trinity and controls the entire universe.

    6/7

    SB 2.6.33

Thus I explained upon your request my dear son, all this to you, whatever you broodof, whether as cause or effect, there is nothing that has its existence beyond the Lord.

    SB 2.6.34

Oh Nrada, this attitude always proved itself to be correct as my heart in zeal greatlyholds to the Lord, neer wandering in untruth nor degraded in chasms of temporality.

    SB 2.6.35

Though as Brahma, I am The Vedas, austerity, as well as the worshippable masterof all the forefathers, I could not fathom Him from whom I myself am born, my Sire

    SB 2.6.36

I therefore worship the all-auspicious feet of the Lord as other surrendered soulsdo which stop transmigration and grant bliss, I cant estimate the potency of Hisenergies , just as sky cannot see its own limit, how can it be known by others ?

    SB 2.6.37

Since neither I, nor you oh sons, nor Lord Siva have an idea of the true nature of Hismovements, one cannot expect that the other demigods would do any better, with one's

intelligence clouded by His illusory energies, one sees only as far as one's abilties

    SB 2.6.38

We offer Him, the Supreme Lord, our respectful obeisances, whose incarnationand activities we glorify, though even by divinities, like us He is not fully known

    SB 2.6.39

He, the Primal Person , in each millennium creates within Himself, by Himself, His own

transcendental presence, maintaining Himself for some time and reabsorbing all again

    SB 2.6.40-41

Without any material stain, pure and perfect in knowledge and all-pervading in fullnessHe is situated in truth as the absolute without beginning and end, free from the modesof nature and in a position where He is eternally unrivaled, Oh wise one, great thinkerscan only understand this with a pacified self and their senses under cover, as otherwise

  • 7/29/2019 Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 2.Ch 6

    7/7

it will certainly be beyond their scope and be distorted by tainted , untenable arguments.

    SB 2.6.42

The first avatra of the Absolute Lord is the Original Person, with Him as Mahvishnu

orKaranodakasayi Vishnu, forming the basis of spacetime or kala svabhavahVishnuthe original nature of time, cause, effect, the elements, the modes, as also throughthe ego, the senses and the mind, and the diversity of the whole indeed constitute

all that moves and does not move of the Lord also called Garbhodakasayi Vishnu

    SB 2.6.43-45

Myself as Brahm, the Lord Siva as Destroyer and the Lord Vishnu as Maintainer;all the fathers of the living beings like Daksha and Manu, you yourself and the othersons the leaders of the higher worlds, the celestials, beings of the earth and the lower

worlds the leaders of the denizens of heaven as Ghandarva, Vidydhara and lesser gods

of Carana worlds ,leaders of the demons the Yakshas, Rkshasas and Uragas andthe underworld; the primal sages, the forefathers, the atheists, the specially giftedones, the uncivilized ones and the dead; the evil spirits, the Jinn and the Kooshmaand

other evil spirits, including all the great aquatics, beasts and birds , in other wordseach and every entity in the world who is of power to a special degree or kind

or of mental or perceptual skill or exceptional strength, forgiveness, beauty of mindbody, modesty, opulence, intelligence or breeding, exists as a reflection of the Lordthe Supreme Personality, and so devotion to Him will erase the stain accumulated

in your mind and ears; hence I will relate these stories, that give pleasure to be heard, one after the other the way they are present in my heart, for you to be very pleased
