Karma on Gridhrasi, on the basis at the above principle.30 patients were selected and divided into 3 groups A, B & C and

managed by Vaitarana Basti (Chakradatta 73/32), Agni Karma & both

Basti & Agni Karma respectively.

Period of administration 30 days

It was found that -

(1) In clinical study the most successful (59.74%) group wasgroup C which was managed by both Basti Karma and Agni

Karma i.e. both sthana oriented and dusya oriented

approach.

(2) The group A which was managed by the sthana orientedtherapy i.e. by Agni Karma was 36.36% successful.

(3) Group B which was managed by the dusya oriented therapyi.e. by Agni Karma was 33.33% successful which was the

least successful.

The highest result obtained by group C shows that Caraka's

principle is true. But neither Basti Karma nor Agni Karma is a

treatment for Gridhrasi roga. In Gridhrasi a multiphase approach

of both dosa oriented and sthana oriented treatment is necessary.
