closing rate field appears,the aircraft has been caught by the scanning unit.The scanning unit now

checks the aircraft typeand the display provides azim

uth guidance information.

Look for the flashing red and solid yellow arrow

hich provide azimuth guidance inform

ation.The flashing red arrow

shows the direction to steer.

When the aircraft is 39'/12m

from the stop position,

closing rate information is given.

/s(7.7 KT). This is

to minim

ize instances of aircraft overshooting the stopbar.

On seeing a w

rong aircraft type displayed on the system, the pilot should stop

the aircraft imm

ediately.W

hen using the docking system, pilots are to be follow

ing taxi centerline into the stand at m

inimum

operating speed.To avoid overshooting, pilots are advised to approach the stop position slow

ly andobserve the closing rate inform

ation. Pilots should stop the aircraft imm

ediately when

seeing the "STO

P" display, or w

hen given the stop sign by the marshaller.

When the system

is identifying and display "W

AIT"

, the aircraft must stop and w

aitfor the system

identifying it over again. If the aircraft is identified successfully by thesystem

, then the aircraft can continue docking, otherwise "

STOP"

will appear and

the pilot must brake the aircraft im

mediately.

If the pilot is unsure of the information being show

n on the DG

S display unit, he must

imm

ediately stop the aircraft and obtain further information.
