Chirag  is  a  rural  transformation  model  addressing  the  electrification  and  socio-­‐economic  needs  of  rural  India    

Co-­‐Founder    • A  non  profit  organization  providing  solar  technology  based  lighting  solutions  to  un-­‐electrified  villages  in  the  interiors  of  India  • Established  an  inclusive  value  chain  by  employing  paraplegic  and  deaf-­‐mute  individuals  in  the  assembly  of  solar  devices  • Recruited  and  led  a  team  of  approx.  120  students,  to  address  the  twin  challenges  of  providing  a  basic  amenity  to  the  rural  

population  and  augmenting  the  incomes  of  the  differently-­‐abled    • Conceptualized  and  executed  various  marketing  campaigns,  which  enabled  the  project  to  generate  a  healthy  corpus  of  INR  

10M  [US$180,000]  from  various  corporates  and  individuals  • Impacted  5,262  households  across  141  villages  in  four  states  of  India  as  on  September  2013  • Collaborated  with  several  educational  institutions  and  corporations  globally  and  instituted  thirteen  project  chapters    • Direct   interactions   with   eminent   personalities   such   as   Dr.   Rajendra   Pachauri   (Chairman   -­‐   IPCC,   TERI),   Mr.   Ratan   Tata

• In  2013,  led  negotiations  with  Garnier  India  for  the  adoption  of  the  project  under  their  CSR  for  a  period  of  12  months  as  the  ongoing  Chief  Strategy  Officer  of  the  organization
