Basant Panchami Saraswati Pooja

SYNONYMS: sarva-bhuteshu—in all living entities; yena—by
whom; ekam—one; bhavam—situation; avyayam—
imperishable; ikshate—does see; avibhaktam—undivided; vibhakteshu—in
the numberless divided; tat—that; jnanam—knowledge; viddhi—
knows; sattvikam—in the mode of goodness.
TRANSLATION: That knowledge by which one undivided spiritual nature
is seen in all existences, undivided in the divided, is knowledge in the
mode of goodness.

Balavihar Classes
VASANT PANCHAMI
Vasant Panchami day is dedicated to Saraswati the Goddess of knowledge, music,
arts, science and technology. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on Vasant
Panchami day. Vasant Panchami is also known as Shri Panchami and Saraswati
Panchami.
People worship Goddess Saraswati to get enlightenment with knowledge and to
get rid of lethargy, sluggishness and ignorance. This ritual of initiating education
to children is known as Akshar-Abhyasam or Vidya-Arambham/Praasana which is
one of the famous rituals of Vasant Panchami. Schools and colleges arrange pujas
in the morning to seek blessing of the Goddess.
Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami Celebrations Feb 10, 2019. 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm Sunday
Maa Saraswati is worshipped on Basant Panchami Day. Children
are advised to bring Maa Saraswati picture, Ganesh Ji picture or
moorthi, glass and spoon, flowers, fruits, haldi, kumkum, akshat
(rice), 2 coins in Puja Thali/plate. Puja will be performed by the
children, parents can assist the younger kids. Please bring a
slate/book/notebook/pencil/pens.
The Balavihar classes for 2018-2019 started in
September. New families are invited to come
and see what Balavihar is about. Students can
visit the place and meet their teachers. Parents
are welcome to look at the curriculum and ask
