Mahadevapura in vanguard

Mahadevapura is the fastest growing assembly constituency in terms of more number of IT-BT, software companies and other industries. In fact, it is in the top notch in Karnataka state. During BJP regime in 2008-13, thousands of crore was released to Mahadevapura owing to which the constituency saw an unprecedented development.. Now that Mahadevapura has been emerging as model constituency in terms of development. As the MLA of Mahadevapura for the past 10 years, I have the pride and satisfaction of having been working for the development and for the amenities of the public. As the MLA I am proud that I have taken up people oriented works and have been working as the bridge between the public and the Government.

y Out of 18,000 villages that hadn’t seen electricity since India’s independence , electricity connection has been given to 14,028 villages.

y Under deen dayal anthyodaya scheme, 1.2 lakh families are given Rs 69,000 crore loan facility. Many schemes have been launched for Dalit and backward class community.

z In order to make professional courses more attractive and also to transform India into skill centre, Union government has launched many schemes. Under this, Ministry of Skill development and en-trepreneurship has been establishing Model skill centres in every district. These centres with state of the art facilities are called Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK).

z Purpose of PMKK is to offer skill training based on individual’s capability, to maintain quality and consistency in the skill training and to design a stable institutional model

z The PMKK of Bengaluru Central lokasabha Constituency has been established at Kundalahalli of Mahadevapura assembly constituency. This was inaugurated on January 6, 2018.

Contribution of Modi ji led Union Government to KarnatakaThere has been immense contribution by the Union BJP government led by Prime Minister narendra Modi to the development of Karnataka. This shows the genuine concern of Union BJP government towards Karnataka. y Till now, Union BJP government has extended Inr 2,49,393 crore grants to Karnataka. y Rs 31 crore has been released and 50.56 lakh soil health cards are distributed to farmers

in Karnataka. y Under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchaayi scheme , 2,85,878 acres land was brought

under minor irrigation for which union government has contributed Rs 405 crore. y Karnataka, which had become centre for mining scam is now marching towards

revenue generation. This is because , under Pradhan Mantri Khanija Kshetra Kalyana Yojana, mining area has been allotted transparently generating Rs 209 crore. When mining contract gets over, State treasury will accrue revenue of Rs 34,353 crore.

y Under Ujala scheme, Union government has distributed 1.65 crore LED bulbs. By which State will save 21.54 lakh MW power and Rs 862 crore every year.

y Karnataka’s power generation capacity has been enhanced from 14,269 MW to 21,316 MW. This is estimated to bring Rs 4300 crore profit and save Rs 6700 crore annually

y Rs 204 crore released to Karnataka under Swachh Bharath abhiyan. y Under Mudra scheme, Sri Narendra Modi ji has strengthened the hands of the

entrepreneurs of Karnataka. 97.73 lakh beneficiaries have received Rs 39,443 crore subsidy.

Primary Health Centers have been established at Halanayakanahalli, Kodathi, Marathahalli, Mandur, Bidarahalli and Kannur villages. When I was the Health minister, I released funds for construction of building at these places. except Bidarahalli, construction of health centre buildings have been completed at all these places. avalahalli health centre has been upgraded to community health centre. Most of these health centers provide 24X7 services.

Bengaluru Central lokasabha MP PC Mohan has adopted Yerrappanahalli under Samsad adarsh Grama, basic amenities have been provided to this village under the scheme.

drinking water unit work completed at Panatturu, Mulluru, Nallurahalli and Seetharamanapalya with Huawei Software company under Public-Private Partnership by using Mla’s funds and rs 4 lakh by the company. on Similar model drinking water units will be established at aduru, Gunjuru palya, vijayanagara, Immadihalli, doddanekkundi colony and Patalam layout of Kadugodi. Huawei Company has also donated 250 computers to government schools and also helped in constructing toilets in 10 schools.

out of 110 newly added villages to BBMP, 31 villages come under Mahadevapura constituency. In order to ensure Cauvery water for these villages, I personally met Union Urban development Minister along with MP and got approval on priority and pipeline work is under progress. at present, water is being supplied using borewell to these villages.

z Signal free corridor work is in progress. Underpass work at Hoody junction, Kundalahalli junction and Hoop form are yet to commence for which efforts are on to convince land owners to give their land with proper compensation. Care is taken to see that these works are commenced on top priority.

z Most of the arterial, sub-arterial and major interlink roads are developed using grants from BBMP, Bda, PWd, Swachh Bharath and Zilla Panchayat. Measures are taken to identify and develop the remaining important roads.

Continuous Struggle… For the development of the Constituency

Congress government did not provide justice to your tax money

The present Congress state government is showing step-motherly attitude towards Mahadevapura assembly constituency which is marching towards overall progress. The state government has deliberately ignored the developmental works of Mahadevapura.. Some of the development works that were approved by the previous BJP government are purposely delayed and ignored by the present Congress government thus doing injustice to the people of Mahadevapura. Some of the below mentioned works that were previously approved by the then BJP government haven’t been started by Congress till date.

MORE TAX, LESS GRANTS z Among other assembly constituencies in BBMP limits, Mahadevapura stands first in terms

of tax collection. Since 2013-14 till now, Mahadevapura residents have paid Rs 1750 crore., they have paid even more to State government treasury in other forms of other taxes. But in return, government contribution towards development of Mahadevapura is quite low. Many development works are suffering owing to this. On the other hand, more grants were given to the neighbouring MLA Assembly constituencies. We had staged protest against state government against this discrimination in allotting grants.

OBSTRUCTION TO SIGNAL FREE CORRIDOR z Two signal free corridors including Bayyappanahalli to NH 208 on Channasandra and Old

airport to NH 4 were approved during BJP led State government. Although the present CM inaugurated the project four years back, deliberately work is going on at snail’s pace.

GOVERNMENT’S COMPLETE FAILURE IN GARBAGE MANAGEMENT..UNENDING WOES… z After fierce protest, garbage dumping at Mandur is stopped. Although the present State

government had assured to clear the uncleared garbage at landfill site within a year’s time, measure hasn’t been taken even after four years of assurance.

z After protest, the state government sought three months time to stop garbage dumbing at Mettiganahalli waste processing units, but unfortunately even today it has not stopped. Government has not provided land for the waste processing unit in the constituency despite repeated requests.

NEGLECTED THE DEVELOPMENT OF POLLUTED LAKES, IGNORED COURT ORDER z Inspite of National Green Tribunal directing State

government to develop Bellandur and Varthur lakes at the earliest, no action has been taken by the Government so far nor they have utilized the Union government funds.

z The Rampura lake is also getting polluted like Bellandur lake. But State government has not taken any action to protect it. Despite the pressure to develop a few more lakes in Mahadevapura constituency, state govt is paying deaf ears to our plea and is concentrating on the development of only a few lakes.

PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRES YET TO SEE THE LIGHT OF THE DAY z Primary health centre at Bidarahalli was approved long back, but work is not yet commenced

as the revenue department is not giving any land for the same. Primary centers at Kodathi, Halanayakanahalli and Mandur are ready, but have not been inaugurated yet. I , in the interest of the public, therefore interfered and opened these centres to public. Primary health centers at Marathahalli and Kannur are ready for operation.

GOVT’S INDIFFERENCE TO GIVE LAND to HOSPITAL z Grants to construct 100 bed hospital at Siddapura has been approved. Government is delaying in

handing over the land from BMTC to Health department.

PROTECTED GOVT LAND LAY UNUTILIZED..NO CURBING OF ENCROACHMENT

When I became MLA for the first term, we were successful in regaining more than 270 acres of encroached govt land and was reserved for public works. Some of them are :

z Survey number 104 at Gunjur village, where 27.04 acres was reserved to construct international stadium. But State government has not allotted any grants to sports department. Thus, the constituency is deprived of having a stadium of International standard.

z Two acres was allotted to construct open theatre and four acres to construct Vemana International conventional centre at Doddakannalli village, but funds are not released from the government.

z When BJP was in government, construction of houses from BDA was started at Gunjur village ; This apart, construction of 500 houses at Kodathi village were taken up under BSY scheme but due to govt’s negligence, none of these projects is completed so far.

z At Mahadevapura, many of the storm water drains, government lands and lakes are encroached. We are demanding State government to carry out the survey and clear the encroachment, but the state govt is not paying heed to my request.

OBSTACLES TO DEVELOP ROAD, FLYOVER, BRIDGE, NEW MARKET.. z Eastern airport approach road should have opened for public as a major connecting road of

Mahadevapura. As the Government is ignoring it, the work has not started. z No grants is given by either State government or BBMP for construction of railway over bridge

and railway under bridge to reduce traffic congestion. Although we have demanded additional vents at Panathur and Doddanekkundi, action is not taken.

z It was proposed to construct bus station in the existing market area at Varthur by shifting market to different location. But government has exhibited its sheer irresponsibility by not handing over the land to the said purpose.

GOVT’S DISINTERST TO COLLEGE BUILDING, INTERNATIONAL STADIUM! z Two acres land was sanctioned for construction of government first Grade College. As funds not

released, work has not been started. Students have been facing difficulty for the last four years. z Despite repeated pressure to develop playgrounds at Hoody and Varthur, government not

showing interest. z Inauguration cancelled: After printing invitation cards for inauguration of Polytechnic at

Immadihalli and First grade college at Varthur, government deliberately cancelled the event. However, we have opened them and made them functional for the benefit of students. Similar is the story with Mandur bus depot. It was not formally inaugurated, but now we opened it for public convenience.

NO GRANTS FOR DIGITAL LIBRARY z A new digital library has been constructed at

Thubarahalli, but with no grants from state govt library is not functional.

CONGRESS TALKS SOCIAL JUSTICE, BUT PRACTICES INJUSTICE z Social Welfare Department has stopped giving grants

to developing colonies for the poor thus depriving thousands of families in availing social justice.

z When BJP was in power, apartment complex was constructed by Karnataka State Slum Board and the same was allotted to beneficiaries at Sadaramangala, Varthur and Channasandra. However, at Marathahalli and Soolikunte, though land was handed over to Karnataka Slum Board and building has been constructed, it has not yet been allotted to the needy.

WATER SUPPLY TO VILLAGES AFTER MANY EFFORTS z Out of 110 villages that were added to BBMP in 2007, 31 villages come under Mahadevapura

assembly constituency. In order to get Cauvery water supply to these villages, I met the Union Urban Development Minister along with our MP and got the approval for the same with great difficulty. Kaveri pipeline laying work has just begun.

State government has been neglecting Mahadevapura. nevertheless, with support from Union government led by Prime Minister narendra Modiji , help from private companies and institutions combined with my determination, many development works are continuously on in my constituency. I have the satisfaction that I am working for the development of Mahadevapura with the help from Union government and private organisations. Many pro-people initiatives by PM narendra Modi lead Union Govt have reached Mahadevapura and people are getting immensely benefited by them..

during 2008-13 BJP govt, as Higher education Minister and as the Minister of Health and family welfare , I was actively involved in the State administration and I am happy about many revolutionary changes I brought about in these departments.

apart from this, in the last two decades, I have been serving as the party worker and organizer and I have been elected record eighth term as the General Secretary of state BJP.

Thus, amidst the responsibilities of government and BJP, I have continuously lead the development works of Mahadevapura assembly constituency. My contentment lies in Social work, my happiness lies in serving the public.
