Jab pareshan hui

وئی، موال ہجب پریشان کی جماعت رن میں

Jab pareshan hui, maula ki jamat ran mein

At the time when Maula’s troop was anxious in the battle-field

ہر نمازی کو، پسند آئی، اقامت رن میں

Har namazi ko pasand aai iqamat ran mein

All those pious people found solace in prayer in the battle-field

ےقبل دیں ن کیا، قصد ہعبادت رن میں

Qibla-e-deen ne kiya qasd-e-ibadat ran mein

The Imam made the intention of prayer in the battle-field

شکل محراب بنی تیغ، ادت رن میں ہش

Shakl-e-mehrab bani tegh-e-shadat ran mein

The raised swords for their martyrdom appeared like arches of a

mosque to them

وا اس کو امام، ہغل یں ت اں ک ہدوج ے ہ ہ

Ghul hua iss ko Imam-e-do jahan kehtay hain

There was uproar, that this is certainly the Imam of this world and

the next

ےتیغوں ک سائ میں ےیں ت ہشبیر، اذان ک ے ہ

Teghon ke saaye mein Shabbir, azan kehtay hain

And in the shade of swords Shabbir said the call for prayers

، ےنیم بسمل ن زباں س ےا بسم الل ہجو ک ہ

Neem bismil ne zuban se, jo kaha Bismillah

Almost ready for martyrdom Hussain said bismillah

، لب ےتیر مارا ابو، ایوب نہپر ناگا

Teer mara Abu Ayyub ne, lab par nagah

Abu Ayyub shot an arrow on his lip suddenly

ےدر س سیدانیاں، چالئیں، ہک انا لل ہ

Dar se Saydaniyan chillaeen ke, inna lillah

From the tents the ladies cried, we are from Allah

، ہائ ی ظلم نمازی پ ہ ے ہہعیازا بالل

Haye yeh zulm namasi peh, iyazan billah

Oh this cruelty on one who is praying, Allah provide him refuge

واجب القتل کو بھی آب لت ہو، غذا کی م

Wajib-ul-qatl ko bhi aab-o-ghiza ki muhlat

Even one on death row gets a break for food and water

یں فرض، ر کو ن ہجان ز ہ ہلت ہخدا کی م

Jaan-e-Zehra ko nahin farz-e-khuda ki muhlat

The darling of Zehra does not get a break to say a prayer to God

وئی ش کی، ، آخر جو ہآ ہ ہنماز آخر

Aah, akhir jo hoi sheh ki, namaz-e-akhir

Oh when finally the last prayer of Hussain happened

، ، بالیں پ ہدیکھا خنجر لئ ےہےکھڑا کافر

Dekha khanjar liye, baleen pe, khara hai kafir

An infidel was standing next to the fallen Imam

، سب ہےننگ سر در پ ہ ےر ہآل، رسول طا

Nangay sar dar pe hai, sab aal-e-rasool-e-tahir

Without veils watched the family of prophet from their tents

وں ، ہملک الموت پکارا ک ہمیں بھی حاضر

Malik-ul-maut pukara ke, hoon mein bhi haazir

The angel death proclaimed that I am present as well

ا حلق کی، ہتیغ قاتل ن ک ےوں میں ہخاطر

Tegh-e-qatil ne kaha halq ki, khatir hoon mein

The sword of the murderer declared that I am ready for the throat

، ہش ن فرمایا ک تقدیر پ ہ ے ہوں میں ہشاکر

Sheh ne farmaya ke taqdeer pe, shakir hoon mein

And the Imam said that I am completely content with my fate

، ےخنجر ظلم کو چمکا کپکارا دشمن

Khanjar-e-zulm ko chamka ke pukara dushman

The enemy soldier sharpened his sword and asked

ہہبوساگا نبوی، کاٹوں، میں اب یا گردن

Bosagah-e-nabawi katoon mein ab ya gardan

Should I cut the lips or this neck that the prophet used to kiss?

ہبول ش جس میں تو، ےیں جائ و، ن ےراضی ہ ہ

سخنBolay sheh jis mein tu raazi ho nahin

jaye sukhan

The Imam replied calmly, whichever you want, I won’t stop you

، ی بدن ہحلق ی حلق نبی ہے ہان کا بدن

Halq ye halq-e-nabi hai, ye badan un ka badan

Know that this neck is the Prophet’s neck, this body is his body

ر اک ہدیکھ سر ننگ ےہےحور، جناں آتی

Dekh sar nange har ik hoor-e-jinan aati hai

Look, even the maidens from the paradise now come with their heads

unveiled

ہابھی سین پ ن چڑھنا، ہ ہہےمیری ماں آتی

Abhi seenay peh na charhna, meri maan aati hai

Just hold on for a few moments, my mother should be coming soon

ہقافل لٹ گیا اماں میرا، ا ہلشکر ن ر ہ

Qafla lut gaya amma mera, lashkar na raha

O mother my whole caravan was destroyed and my army is no more

ہ��ج امجد کی، نشانی، علی ا ہاکبر ن ر ہ

Jad-e-amjad ki nishani Ali Akbar na raha

My grandfather’s reminder Ali Akbar, is no more

، ائ ےر گیا درد کمر، ہ ہا ہبردار ن ر ہ

Reh gaya dard-e-kamar, haye, biradar na raha

My back is broken; my brother Abbas is no more

ےاب خبر آپ ن لی گھر ا ہکی، جب گھر ن ر ہ

Ab khabar aap ne li ghar ki, jab ghar na raha

O now you ask about us mother, when the whole household is no more

وں تو مجھ ےایک میں ہہےذبح کی، مشتاقی

Aik mein hoon to mujhe zibha ki mushtaqi hai

I am the last one, and I have a desire for martyrdom

ےبوساگا نبوی کٹن کو، اب ہہہےباقی

Bosagah-e-nabawi katnay ko baaqi hai

This neck, kissed by the prophet, is all that remains to be cut

ر کی صدا، شمر ہآئی ز ہہےتو نابینا

Aai Zehra ki sada, Shimr tu nabeena hai

Zehra let out a wail, Shimr you are blind

، یں، بالیں پ ہدر پ زینب ن ہ ہر ہےمگر ز ہ ہ

Dar pe Zainab nahin baaleen pe, magar Zehra hai

It’s not Zainab standing in the doorway, but Zehra standing next to

you

، ےار ب رحم، خطا میر ے ےہےپسر کی کیا

Aray berehm, khata mere pisar ki kya hai

O you merciless person, what was the crime of my son?

ہےآستین الٹی کیوں، تیغ ہےکو کیوں کھینچا

Aasteen ulti hai kyun, tegh ko kyun khencha hai

Why have you rolled back your sleeves and unsheathed your sword

، ےکیا اس پاال تھا میں ن ےےتر خنجر ک لئ ے ے

Kya isse paala tha mein ne, teray khanjar ke liye

Did I raise him up for this dagger or yours?

ہمیر بچ کو ن کر ذبح، ے ےےپیمبر ک لئ ے

Mere bhachay ko na zibha kar, payambar ke liye

Don’t slaughter my son, for the sake of the Prophet
