Comparative Studies of Karma
One day workshop on
About workshop: How does karma work? This workshop will compare and contrast Buddhist,
Hindu, and Jain interpretations of karma, drawing from the Dhammapada, the Bhagavad Gītā,
the Yoga Sūtra, and the Tattvārtha Sūtra and Yogabindu of Jainism. The solution to the
problem of karma is twofold: practice ethical behavior (vratas and yamas) and live
compassionately (maitrī, karuṇā, muditā, upekṣā).
