Rahu Kala is said to be an inauspicious time of the day where any new activity isgenerally avaoided. But most of the times, it is difficult to remember when Rahu Kalastarts on a particluar day of the wek. Rahu Kala has a fixed duration of 1 hr and 30min every day. But the time varies depending on the Day of the week. and sometimesalso on the Sunrise and Sunset times. If we arrange the days of a week in a particular order so that Rahu Kala on each day begins exactly 1 hr 30 min later than that of the

previous day, then it would suffice to only know the Rahu Kala of the first day. We cansimply add 1hr 30 min to get the Rahu Kala of the next day.

 A very traditionaly and easy method to calculate Rahu Kala for a specific week day.

 सोमो  िशनतथा  शु ो   बधुच   गु रे व   च  ।

 मलो   िरवरयेत े राह    काल े मात ् थताः ।।

Just by-heart this shloka and you will be able to tell the Rahu Kala very easily. Starting

from Monday, the Rahu Kala is 1:30 hrs more on each of the following day in theseries above. The Rahu Kala for Monday begins at 7:30 am. If only you know onMonday, rahu kala begins at 7:30 am, then you would know rahu kaala for all days.Just add 1:30 hrs to get the begin time of Rahu Kala for the next day.

M = Monday = 7:30 - 9 am

S = Saturday = 9:00 - 10:30 am

F = Friday = 10:30 am - 12 pm

W = Wednesday = 12 - 1:30pm

T = Thursay = 1:30 - 3 pm

T = Tuesday = 3:00 - 4:30 pm

S = Sunday = 4:30- 6 pm
