Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu
Sri Chaitanya was born in Bengal, on a full moon night during a lunar eclipse to Jagannatha Misra and Sachidevi on 4th February, 1486 A.D. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (Mahaprabhu means "the great master") lived for only 48 years, but his teaching bear special place and has touched lives of millions. During his childhood he exhibited extraordinary qualities, and his brilliant intelligence began to become apparent. While still a child, he mastered Sanskrit and logic to the point of defeating local pundits, and established the truth of his spiritual and Vedic philosophy. He received Vaishnava initiation from Ishvara Puri in Gaya. Thereafter, he lost all his interest in debate and got absorbed himself in chanting and singing the names of Lord Krishna. Through his devotional chanting of the Lord’s holy names using the Hare Krishna mantra, he could bring out the natural loving sentiments of God. Lord Chaitanya took sannyasa at the age of 24 and left his family to teach the forgotten essence of the ancient Vedic wisdom throughout India. He spent some time in Vrindavana, Varanasi & Jagannatha Puri and was absorbed in the devotion to Krishna. His presence itself could transform everyone into a devotional mood. He taught everyone how to directly feel the pure love of God. Lord Chaitanya is considered and was established by Vedic scripture as the most recent incarnation of God. During his whole life Lord Chaitanya induced people to chant Hare Krishna. He is praised as being the most merciful Lord as he distributed his teaching and love to everyone without any discrimination.

AMARAVATHI RIVER The Amaravathi River, also called Pournami is a tributary of the Kaveri River. The 282 km long Amaravathi River is one of the longest rivers in the state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. It is the continuation of the Pambar and Chinnar rivers in Kerala. The Amaravati River begins at the Kerala/Tamil Nadu border at the bottom of Manjampatti Valley between the Annamalai Hills and the Palni Hills in Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park. It descends in a northerly direction through Amaravathi Reservoir and Amaravathi Dam at Amaravathinagar. It is joined by the Kallapuram River at the mouth of the Ajanda valley in Udumalaipettai. It joins with the Kaveri River in Karur. This river irrigates over 60,000 acres of agricultural lands in Coimbatore, Erode and Karur districts. The Amaravathi Dam has 4 Megawatts electric generating capacity installed. The Amaravathi River and its basin, especially in the vicinity of Karur, are heavily used for industrial processing water and waste disposal and as a result are severely polluted due to large amount of textile dyeing and bleaching units.

KAVERI RIVER Kaveri River is the smallest of the five major rivers of the Indian peninsula, the others being the Mahanadi, Godavari, Narmada, and Krishna. However, it forms perhaps the most important watershed of the South. Known as "Dakshin Ganga" (the Ganges of the South), it serves as a lifeline to the people of Southern Karnataka, and the Cauvery basin of Tamil Nadu. Legendry Saga: According to mythology, there was a childless king named Kaverna and Brahma gifted him a beautiful girl Kaveri. She was married to Agastya muni on the condition that he would never leave her alone. One day, Agastya muni began teaching his disciples a difficult lesson in philosophy. Assuming that something unfortunate had happened to him and not wanting to live alone she jumped into a tank. But she did not die. She became a river, flowed up the Brahmagiri Mountain and reappeared as a spring. The Journey: The River Kaveri flows through the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Its source is a spring in the Brahmagiri Mountains in Mysore at a height of 1320 meters above sea level. The Kaveri is not the same throughput its length of 765 kilometers. As the Kaveri flows down the Brahmagiri Mountain and enters the plain, two small rivers, the Kanaka and the Gajoti, join it. They meet at the town of Bahamandalam till here it is a small river. Two more rivers, Hemavati and Lakshman Theertham join it, that it becomes a large river, broad and deep. It is here that the water of the three rivers is collected in the Krishnaraj Sagar reservoir, on the banks of which is laid one of the most beautiful gardens of Mysore - Brindavan.

SRI VALLABHACHARYA
Sri Vallabhacharya was a devotional philosopher who founded the Pushti sect in India that follows the Advaita philosophy (non-dualism – that teaches that the Brahman, the absolute, supreme reality and the atman, the self are identical). He was born as the second child to Sri Lakshmanna Bhatt and Yellamagaru in 1479 A.D in Champaran near Raipur in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Lakshmanna Bhatt was from a family of learned vaishnavas and Yellama was also from an influential family – her father was a priest in the kingdom of Vijayanagar. Lakshmana Bhatta migrated with his family to Benaras and was forced to flee the city in 1479 due to Muslim invasion. On their way, Vallabhacharya who was thought to have been born a still-born baby was miraculously saved by his mother who received a divine call from Lord Krishna who revealed to her that he was being born as Vallabhacharya. Vallabha's education began when he was 6 years old under the tutelage of Vishnucitta. In 4 years time, Vallabhacharya had learnt all the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavat Gita and other scriptural texts. When Vallabhacharya was 11 years old, it was when his father died that he undertook a pilgrimage of the whole of India for the next 20 years, spreading his philosophy to the masses. He is widely considered one of the four great Vaishnava Acharyas of his time. –Vinod Krishna Moorthy
