20:25 Train arrives in BHUBANESHWAR. Normal auto fare to Iskcon Bhubaneshwar: on Nat. Hiway

No. 5 at NAYAPALLI – everyone knows it – is Rs. 80. MM pr will arrange autowalla Bijay (0-

98018408583) to send one big auto (perhaps Rs100) to pick you up directly from the station

holding a placard with yr name (“Rama, Chennai”). Pls use Platform 1 Exit – MM will inform

you the fare via sms when booking is done. He says it is too early to book now.

21:30 Settle in rooms in Iskcon BHUBANESHWAR Guest House and bathe. 2 rooms booked thru G’hse

manager Devanath pr (09439263366). (Pls note: Your rooms at Gadei Giri were also ‘booked’

thru Devanath pr, who spoke to the temple commander there… but they don’t really have any booking

system there! They say rooms are available and free of charge and you may give any donation you

like. So Mukunda mala prabhu has volunteered to contact the Temple commander at Gadei Giri

again on 2nd Apr to remind them of your ‘booking’ and re confirm your rooms and prasadam. This

way, everything should be taken care of smoothly. The rooms are very nice.)

12:30 Visit nearby Lord Kedar Gauri’s temple and fill up bottles with the excellent spring water which Srila

Prabhupada used to drink daily when he was in Bhubaneshwar (Jan 1977)

13:00 Head to Balidkuda, GADEI GIRI, Gopal Jiu temple. (About 2 hrs drive, abt. 85 km)

15:00 Arrive at ISKCON Gadei Giri Guest house. Bath, rest.

16:15 Arati and Darshan of Lord Gopal jiu. Read and hear the stories of Gopal jiu and Srila Gurudev.

17:30 Dinner (Driver Naresh great suggestion: Visited Jgpur on the way to G Giri, so next morning 6am start to BBSR> Kantilo by 11.30!

18:00 Perhaps drive around BALIKUDA town (2 km) just to see what this rural Oriyan town is like, or walk

around Gadei Giri village. There is a Devi temple nearby.

Purchase some books of Srila Gour Govinda Maharaj, a truly great saint and dear disciple of SP.

18:30 Gaura arati and Kirtan. Wonderful special style of Oriya kirtan by the local devotees, relatives of

Srila Gour Govinda Swami Gurudev.

06:00 Bathe in the ocean – Lord C bathed Haridas Thakur’s body here and declared the waters here to be

henceforth more holy than the Ganga.

07:30 Darshan of Lord Jagannath. Spend time in temple. Hear story of Lord Jagannath. Visit various

deities witin the temple (there are 100 shrines witin this temple – look out for the huge Lord Nrsimha

2 stories up, facing the North Gate (elephant gate)

few rounds there. Mahaprabhu used to come here daily to visit Thakur Haridas!!!

16:00 20 mins Walk / take auto to Srila Haridas Thakur’s Samadhi, where Mahaprabhu had buried his

body with His own hands. (It’s just opposite the Iskcon centre.) (Visit beach again if time permits -

It was on 17th May, 1929 Srila Prabhupada for the first time came to Alalnath. He visited the historical

temple of Alwarnath, which was in a wretched condition, and started renovation in the same year. After

two years i.e. on 12th July, 1931 His divine Grace Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada

inaugurated a math beside the temple and named it Sri Bramha Gaudiya Math and started worshipping

the deity of Sri Gaudiyanath, Sriman Mahaprabhu .

On 27th June, 1934 Srila Radha Gopinath jiu was endowed with life by the lotus hand of Srila Prabhupada

on the occasion of Snanyatra (of Srila Jaganath Dev).

The large compound with garden all around with existing calmness claims the feeling of bipralambha

(pangs of love in separation from Lord), as expressed by Srila Chaitanya Dev, who cried here for those

fortnights during the ‘Anabasarkal' of Jagannath Dev.

The renovation of the math into a complete new form is made by the lotus hands of His Divine grace Om

Vishnupada Paramhansa 108 Sri Srila Bhakti Suhrid Paribrajak Maharaj, the present Acharya Of the

Mission on 4th July 2005.

This math is situated at a distance of 14 km from Puri. The place is called Bramha Giri. Sri Alwarnath

Jiu- deity of Narayan is being worshipped from a historical period.

Srila Chaitanya Dev being upset for being unable to see Jagannath Dev came to Alalnath Temple. He

cried continuously for a fortnight in pangs of love in separation of the beloved Lord. Still now the melted

stone stands in the memory of the event. (imprint of the Lord’s body in the stone on the ground, as He

offered obeisances to Lord Alalarnath.
