Description of Rituals
It is very exciting to know about the Sthapana Rituals which will be held for three days. Sthapana
Rituals will be conducted mainly according to Sri Narada Pancharatra Agama. The word Agama
means ‘The Vedic Tradition which is coming from time immemorial’. Agama scriptures give detail
account of Idol worship, Temple Construction and Idol Installation. There are more or less 250
Agama Texts. The Agama texts clearly explain why we have to do the rituals? The concept behind
installing the Idol is to enshrine the cosmic energy (Viswatmak Shakti) in the Idols. During the
Installation ceremony the idol will be taken through the Agama Sacraments. After necessary rituals,
the idols will be qualified to be worshiped and we will feel the presence of god in the Idols. While
going through the rituals every step is exciting, interesting and meaningful. It is equally important to
know the meaning of the rituals. These rituals are said to be life-time rituals which will be conducted
only at the time of installing the Idols. The detailed description of every ritual is explained here-
under. Please witness this lifetime event and participate in every ritual and always be blessed by
Lord Jagannatha and all the forms of the One Almighty
