kAle phalati surudrumaH chintAmaNir api yAchane daataa | vararthi sakalam abhiiShTaM darshana mAtrAt shrIpAdarAjo muniH|| Sri Sripadarajaru, is a prominent peethathipathi in the parampara of Sri Madwacharya in the lineage of Sri Sri Padmanapa Theertha. Chintamani, Kalpavruksha, etc. are celestial treasures, would give whatever one wants, when prayed near these. But, Sri Sripadaraja, fulfills all our wishes by mere darshan of his brindavan or even by mere rememberence of his name. This is the meaning of the above sloka. In his poorva avathara of Sri Sripadaraja, as Dhruvaraja, was doing tapas in his tender age to see the Lord. At the sight of the Lord, Dhruva was dumb founded and could not speak anything because of over joy. By the grace of Mahalakshmi, he was able to praise the Lord who bestowed him the kingship of the kingdom. He was made the Emperor of Dhruva Mandala for a period of one Brahma Kalpa, which is 100 years of Brahma. Dhruvaraja, king of Dhruva Mandala is in-charge of controlling the Navagrahas, the Kalachakra, etc. His Loka, Dhruvaloka is situated 13 Lakh Yojana above Rushi Mandala from where Dhruvaraja controls the movement of Sun, Moon and other planets. Dhruvaraja holds his office of the emperorship of the Dhruvaloka. Since this is an official post - Dhruvaraja thought that he would not be entitled to attain Moksha, the desired goal of every soul. He wanted to know the attributes of God in a disciplined manner during a lifetime in a place designated for the purpose in the universe i.e. Bharata. Accordingly, Dhruvaraja came down to the earth in an Amsha and assumed Sanyasaashrama to complete his Sadana and goes by the name Sri Sripadaraja Theertha. (Sri Lakshmi Narayana Munigalu). Thus, Sripadarajaru is the incarnation of Dhruva. His contributions to Dvaita, Haridasa Sahitya and the then existing social and political circumstances were according to a tradition, recorded in the Brahmanya Tirtha Vijaya. Many yathis and haridasaru have composed numnerous devaranamas praising the glory of Sri Sripadarajaru. Ashrama gurugalu Sri Swarnawarna Parasurama Theertharu. Vidya gurugalu Sri Vibhudendraru (Peethathipathi of Sri Raghavendra swamy maha samsthana). Ashrama shisyaru Sri Hayagreeva Theertharu. Vidya shisyaru Sri Vyasarajaru (Peethathipathi of Sri Vyasaraja maha samsthana ).

Sri Brahmanya Theertharu and Sri Sripadarajaru were cousins in their poorvashrama and were roughly of the same age. It is remarkable that both renounced the World and devoted themselves to the cause of their faith and played a conspicuous part in the spiritual development of their gifted disciple Sri Vyasa Theertha. Sri Vyasaraja, a perfect and pet shishya of Sri Sripadaraja sings the glory of his gurugalu in his composition.

Mahime salade , Mahime salade Likewise, Sri Sripadarjaru also sings the glory of his priya shisya Sri Vyasarjaru in one devaranama.

Sasira jigvegalulla seshane kondada beku Vyasa muni raya. King Saluva Narasimha boopala has performed ratnabhisheka to Sri Sripadarajaru.

Similarly King Krishnadevaraya has performed ratnabhisheka to Sri Vyasarajaru. namaH sripAdArAjaya namastE vyAsa yogine namaH purandararyAya vijayAryAya te namaha Sriparajaru is the founder of Dasa sahithya,Iin the above stotra, his name stands first, which is sung at the beginning of any traditional Harikatha. It salutes 4 great yothigalu, whos contribution to the haridAsa movement is note worthy --- Sri Sripadaraja, Sri Vyasaraja, Sri Purandara Dasaru and Sri Vijaya Dasaru. That is why Sri Sripadarajaru he is also called as 'Dasa Pitamaha' (Grand Father of Dasas). The moola brindavan of Sri Sripadaraja is at Sri Narasimha Theertha, Mulbagal. Sri Sri Vignananidhigalu, Head of Sri Sripadaraja Mutt, has renovated the entire complex to look like a boovaikunta. It is very much true that whoever visiting Tirupathi, first visits Sri Sripadaraja, then proceeds for Srinivasa Dharshan.
