Felicitation to BhagavathasThe Trust is honouring 25 Senior Bhagavathas during Namasankirtana Festival held at Krishna Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, Chennai – 600 017 every year, with a citation and cash award of Rs. 1,000/- till 2012, Rs. 1,500 in the year 2013 and Rs.2,000 in the year 2014 to recognize their yeomen service in the field of Namasankirtanam. So far the Trust had honoured 266 Bhagavathas from the year 2004 to 2014.This year following Bhagavathas will be honoured with a Citation and a Cash Award of Rs. 2,000 on 31st January, 2016:

Ram! Ram !!

Namasankirtanam is the easiest way to beseech the blessings of Almighty in Kali Yugam. Many Bhagavathas have dedicated their entire life in propagating Pracheena Sampradaya (Traditional) Bhajan all over India. They only laid the spiritual foundation for the younger generation to follow. For this yeomen gesture of service, Bhagavathas were not richly rewarded for their performance and they did this as a service to the society. They scrupulously carried out Nithya Karam-anushtanams and propagated Bhakthi through Namasankirtanam.

Since many of the Bhagavathas did not engage in any other service, nor were they employed, they depended only on Bhajan Programmes for their day-to-day living. Because of the age factor they could not perform bhajans and hence unable to run their families. For those who have sacrificed their entire life time for the propagation of Namasankirtanam, which is the only way to Mukthi, it is the duty of all of us to help these Bhagavathas to ensure that their living is properly taken care of.

Bhagavatha Seva Trust (BST) was started with this primary objective during the Namasankirtana Festival – 2002. It has also received and receiving contributions from philanthropic devotees. The Trust is presently offering Rs. 1,500/- as Monthly Financial Assistance to 69 Bhagavathothamas. Depending upon the financial support from you and the income accruing from the Corpus funds, plans are on the anvil to include few more bhagavathas and enhance the monthly assistance. The Trust is also assisting Bhagavathas to meet out their Medical expenses and their children’s Educational expenses.

As we are able to serve Bhagavathas only with your generous support, we would like to share with you the activities of Bhagavatha Seva Trust. We need much more such support from all of you to continue this Service.

Monthly Financial AssistanceBhagavatha Seva Trust was started during the Namasankirtna Festival 2002 with primary objective of helping deserving Bhagavathas who have dedicated their entire life for the propagation of Namasankirtanam. Financial Assitance for Medical ExpensesThe Trust is extending financial assistance for medical treatment to Bhagavathas and their immediate family members for deserving cases. Till 31st December, 2015 the Trust has extended financial assistance totaling to Rs. 3,71,650/-

DonationsThe Trust in selected cases, contribute to the Bhajan Mandalis, Trusts and Organizations who conduct Namasankirtana festival, melas etc., Till 31st December, 2015 the Trust had contributed to the extent of Rs. 3,29,006/-

AN APPEAL AND A REQUEST

Devotees are requested to participate in the noble services of the Trust in extending assistance to the Bhagavathas who have rendered / are rendering yeomen services in the field of Namasankirtanam by contributing liberally to the Trust and be recipient of Blessings of Lord Sri Rama.

Contribution to the Trust can be made by cash or by cheque or by a demand draft drawn in favour of “Bhagavatha Seva Trust”. While sending the contribution please furnish particulars as per format in the reverse side, without fail.

Contribution can also be remitted to the Trust’s Savings Bank Account No. 444958468 with INDIAN BANK, WEST MAMBALAM BRANCH (Branch Code 103) at 71, Arya Gowda Road, West Mambalam, Chennai – 600 033. Contribution to the Trust is eligible for deduction at the rate of 50% for the same as per the provisions of Section 80G (5) (vi) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. However, no deduction will be allowed in respect of contribution in cash exceeding Rs. 10,000/-
