Teaching Procedures:

Pre-assessment:

Students will listen to a piece of music and try to find out what body

parts they can hear from the song while the teacher is still greeting to

the students at the door.

Step 1: Greetings

1. Teachers will greet to students by asking them how they are.

2. Teacher will ask student what day it is today. Then we will review the

seven days of the week.

3. Teacher will review how to write from one to ten with students after

finished reviewing the seven days of the week.

4. Teacher and the students will do the Number Kungfu which is the

Chinese writing of the numbers together to reinforce the writing of

the ten numbers.

Step 2: Review

1. Review how to say the body parts

Teacher will touch her own body parts and ask students what they

are in Chinese.

Students will answer it individually/together.

While we are reviewing the words, we will say two chants that

related with body parts. One is “ Two tigers” and another one is

“ Little rabbit”

Two tigers is about two tigers that one has no ears and one has no

tails. They are very strange.

The little rabbit is a poem about the cute rabbit who has two big

ears and white fur. It also talks about their eating habits.

Teacher will show student the flash cards that have Chinese words

of the body parts on and ask students to read it, at the same time,

the students are required to touch the right body parts while they

are reading the words on the card.

3. An activity to do if time allows:

If the students say the words right, the teacher will give the card

to the students.

In this class, two students will have the cards that have the same

words one, then, the teacher will say a Chinese word, whoever

can recognize the Chinese words with the pronunciation will stand

up, whoever stand up first will get a point.

students have achieved the fifth objective.

Students will tell the teacher one word or sentence they remember

from the class before they go out of the classroom as usual.

Follow-up

I will let the students know that we will learn the song that we played

in the beginning and end of the class next week

All the students will act out a play about seeing a doctor in a Chinese

hospital in groups next week.

Reflective self-evaluation:

Did all the students meet all the objectives?

Did all the activities serve their purpose?

What part did I do well when I deliver the lesson?

What part did I do badly when I deliver the lesson?

What can I do to improve when I teach the same lesson again?

What should I do to those students who don’t have moms? Will I

make them sad?
