GTU is inviting you to the West zone screening for ideas and designs submitted by

various teams of students across engineering colleges all over Western & Central

parts of India.

About Solidworks – AAKRUTI initiative:

The R&D Lab of Dassault Systems in India has been implementing well-rounded and strong

agenda on Academia Collaboration Programs. Its Academia Collaboration Programs are

centred around twin objectives of strengthening the Industry Academia connect, and to develop

next Gen Technocrats thereby providing exciting career opportunities to the students.

With these objectives in mind, Dassault Systems has been conducting several initiatives for the

last 10+ years. One of the flagship initiative is called as “AAKRUTI”. AAKRUTI is a nation-

wide Product Design contest for engineering students. Launched in 2011, AAKRUTI event

aims to encourage students to showcase their design skills, creativity and innate talent and to

reach out to engineering colleges all across India to strengthen Industry – Academia

Collaboration Opportunities.

This year in 2019, the theme for Aakruti is:

The topics are of great significance and are part of our Nations Mission. This competition

would provide platform to the students to present their creative ideas and contribute to national

mission too.

The participant registration for this year AAKRUTI is closed and 2466 teams (each team

comprising of two students) from 332 colleges and 26 states across India have registered

for this competition. More than 869 great ideas and designs are submitted by various teams

across engineering colleges all over Western & Central parts of India.

From all these teams, top 10 teams will be invited to Gujarat Technological University (GTU),

Ahmedabad for the zonal round on 24th September, 2019 to select the zonal winners. Winning

teams from each zone will get opportunity to present their ideas & concept in the final event of

AAKRUTI 2019 which will be held in Pune. The winners from this zonal round will be

adjudged on the same day and will be felicitated in an award ceremony in the evening.
