LOIS BRAKO

Lois Brako was born on July 25, 1957, in New York City, New York. She attended the City University of New York (B.S., 1978), the University of Min- nesota, St. Paul (M.S., 1981), and was a herbarium fellow of the New York Botanical Garden-Graduate School of the City of New York joint program (Ph.D., 1987). Her special interest in tropical lichens, particularly the Bacidiaceae, has taken her to South America, Panama, Australia, New Zealand, and the Society Islands. She has held a post-doctoral appointment with the National Fungus Collection of the U.S.D.A., and currently holds a post-doctoral position at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

FLORA NEOTROPICA Flora Neotropica is designed to present in monographic form taxonomic

accounts of all plants growing spontaneously within the Western Hemisphere tropics. Geographic, ecologic, cytologic, anatomic, morphologic, chemical, and economic data will provide complementary information for each contribution. Bibliography, citation of specimens, and indexes are intended to facilitate con- sultation.

Monographs of Flora Neotropica will be issued separately without regard to taxonomic sequence. Each author will be wholly responsible for his or her own contribution, being restricted only by the general style and form of the work.

Those interested in preparing a monograph for Flora Neotropica must consult the Deputy Directors:
