These shortcuts are called - This is very clever scheme by Maharshi PaniNi, he reduced the multiple set of letters to just twoletters by naming the set's first letter and the last delimiter.Henceforth wherever in the book PaniNi wants to refer to all vowels he would not write all vowels or ( , , , , , , , , ).He would simply say . If he wants to use last two vowels then he would simply say

consists of 14 sutra - , , , , , , , , , , , , ,For formatting sake I broke it into vowels and consonants. Else they are part of . One is not limited to making seperate within vowels or consonants only. The flexibility sanskrit offers is enormous.Similarly you can create various to your needs.
