For micro melting point determination and other fusion studies. Range 30 to 350°C. Accuracy, ±1°C between 30 and 300°C, and ±1.5°C above 300°C. Supplied with thermometers which can be replaced from stock without requiring return of hot stage for recalibration. Eliminates lost time and incon- venience. Requires microscope such as Thomas 6517-J10, equipped with metal stage. Objectives used must have working distance of at least 8 mm. Construction. Hot stage chamber is 5.5 mm deep X 90 mm overall i.d. A 2 mm hole at center of stage transmits light from below. Manipulator, which takes 1 X 1%-inch slides, extends through stage rim. Thermometers. Two supplied: one 30 to 230°C, the other 60 to 350°; both scaled in 1° divisions. Accessories.
