be produced in organic procedures, but suitable for any reaction requiring multiple openings for the insertion of stirrers, addition funnels, condensers. thermometers, etc.

The flask bodies are mould blown, cylindrical in shape, and have flattened bottoms and wide, ground glass flanges. All sizes are 5l/2 inches outside diameter. Covers are made of pressed glass, and have four ground openings; the central opening takes inner member of f 34/45 interchangeable ground joint, and the three peripheral openings take f" 24/40 ground joints.

The cover clamping device, which provides a convenient, positive, quick-acting means for holding the flask and cover firmly together, consists of a cast bronze ring with black oxidized finish, and three insulated, spring-activated clamping arms which, in use, fit beneath the flange of the flask body. Simple pressure on, and twists of the heat-resistant fiber knobs permit attachment or removal of clamping device. Springs are of Stainless steel, and will hold the glass parts firmly together without danger of breakage or use of gaskets.

Heaters, Flask (Heating Mantles), Glas-Col, Electric, Cylindrical. Heating range to 400° C, generally similar in construction to Model Ο Hemispherical Glas-Col Heaters, but designed specifically to enclose bodies of 5450-A Pyrex brand glass Reaction Flasks. Complete with iron-constantan thermocouple, and detachable 4 ft. con­necting cord with twistlock terminals. Heaters can be used on 110 volts, a.c. or d.c. but, generally, use on d.c. is not recommended and the electrical input should be reduced by means of a suitable transformer, or rheostat, to insure closely controlled heating conditions.
