Linguistique bantoue a Brazzaville A LA prochaine rentree universitaire (Octobre I964) sera institue au Centre d'Enseignement Superieur de Brazzaville, embryon d'Universite cree et gere par la Fondation de l'Enseigne- ment Superieur en Afrique Centrale (F.E.S.A.C.), un Certificat de Linguistique Bantoue pouvant entrer dans la composition d'une Licence es-Lettres. Le programme en est congu de fagon a combiner l'enseignement de la Linguistique Generale avec l'etude des langues bantoues dans la perspective structuraliste. Un interet particulier sera porte aux langues bantoues du nord-ouest. Le personnel charge des cours se compose de Andre Jacquot, Maitre de Recherches de l'Orstom, charge de la Section Linguistique de l'Institut de Recherches Scientifiques au Congo, et Jean-Pierre Makouta-Mboukou, Assistant des Facultes des Lettres.

Dr. Derrich J. Stenning WE deeply regret to record the death on 27 March of Dr. Derrick J. Stenning, Chairman of the Applied Research Unit and Director of the East African Institute of Social Research, author of Savannah Nomads, published by this Institute. Dr. Stenning was closely associated with the Institute during his Fulani research as a member of the small group established under its auspices in I95 z-3 for liaison in Fulani field research. More recently he had ren- dered valuable service in helping to organize Ethnographic Survey studies in Tanganyika.
