In 14(1): 27, the first sentence in the first paragraph should read, "The assump- tion of a structurally unmediated connection between class and voting is

problematic because it ignores the complex social process by which objective class position may or may not be turned into subjective class action."

In 14(1): 91, the first sentence in footnote 3 should read, "In one of the earliest criticisms of Goody's work on kinship, McCrerry (1976) claims that it is an error to see dowry as a form of pre-mortem inheritance to the bride, since rights to

dowry were not legally defined in China, India, and Ceylon."
