Devotiona2 service to the 2otusfeet of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu is far beyondthe perception of Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, Lord Sesa naga -and the rest; but it iscontinua22y indu2ged in by the Lord s own devotees, and it is a2ways avai2ab2e to

other sou2s as we22. Now I wi22 begin my description o f the process of manasiseva (service to the Lord executed within the mind). This process is fit forcontinuous remembrance by the most virtuous sages. Therefore I offer my mostrespectfu2 obeisances to the eterna2 dai2y 2ife and pastimes of the Lord born inNavadvipa

river, then worships Lord Vishnu; (3) in theforenoon period, He enjoysdiscussing topics about Lord Krishna with His devotees during visits to theirhomes; (0) at midday, He enjoys pastimes in the gardens on the bank of theGanges; (5) in the afternoon, He wanders about the town of Navadvipa,

sporting with a22 the residents; (6) at dusk, he returns home to worship Lord

Vishnu and perform other ritua2s; (7) in the evening, He goes with Hisassociates to the courtyard o f Srivasa Pandita to chant the holy names anddance in ecstasy; (8) and at night, He returns home to go to sleep. May this

Period 1 (3:36 — 6:00 a.m.): pastimes at the end of the night

At the end of the night, upon hearing the pleasant sounds made by many

birds such as the cuckoos, the roosters, and others, Sri Gaura arises from His bed.With His wife, Sri Vishnu Priya, He discusses many topics concerning thetranscendental mellows of Theirmutual loving affairs, and thus They become very pleased. Then He gets up and

goes to another room, wherein He sits upon a raised sitting place and is assisted byHis devotees in washing His lotus face with nicely scented water. Thereafter, Hevery happily visits His mother, Sri Saci Devi, as well as other friends and relativesin the home. I meditate thus on the daily pastimes of Sri Gaura-sundara.

Period 2 (6:00-8:24 a.m.): morning pastimes

In the morning, after sunrise, the Lord goes with His associates to bathe in theGanges river Whi2e b.athing, they a2so worship mother Ganges by offeringflowers, incense, and other presentations A fter thi.s, they come onto the bank ofthe river, where He is dressed with exquisite cloth and decorated with freshflower gar2ands, sanda2wood paste and other ornaments Then th.ey a22 return toHis home in order to per form opu2ent worship of Lord Vishnu, as we22 as otherrituals, after which they partake of the foodstuffs which were offered to LordVishnu. After washing His hands and mouth, Lord Gaura goes into anotherroom to rest very happi2yfor awhi2e Imedita.te thus on the dai2y pastimes ofSri Gaura hari ­

Period 3 (8:24-10:48): forenoon pastimes

Upon the arrival of theforenoon period, the Lord gets up from His nap andstretches His body T.hen he washes His 2otus face with sweet2y scented waterMeeting with His devotees, who are a22 veryfond of chanting Sri Hari na-makirtana, He persona22y tastes and

relishes the chanting of the holy names. Thus He sports, sometimes in the homesof various devotees, and sometimes in His own home. It this way, He increases theecstatic pleasure of all the townspeople to limit less heights. I meditate thus on the

daily pastimes of Sri Gaura-chandra.

Period 4 (10:48 a.m. — 3:36 p.m.) midday pastimes

way, they satisfy the eyes of a22 the townspeop2e, just as the moon satisfies thecakora bird with its moonbeams R.eaching home, the Lord is lavished with2oving attentions by His mother I.thus meditate on the dai2y pastimes ofGaura.

Period 6 (6:00-8:24): sunset pastimes

At dusk, the Lord bathes with His dear friends in the river Ganges, whoflows inthree parts They .devout2y worship the Ganges by offering ghee 2amps, flowers,and other articles A fte.rwards, the Lord puts onfresh si2ken clothes and isadorned with flower garlands and other decorations The.n, He worships LordVishnu by performing the evening arati ceremony, offering ghee lamps andother articles A fter.wards, He and Hisfriends partake of the foodstuffs andbetal nuts that were o ffered to Lord Vishnu.
