Reactions 1317 - 4 Sep 2010 Bupivacaine/fentanyl Horner’s syndrome: case report A 34-year-old woman was admitted with active labour and an epidural catheter was placed between L3 and L4. She then received epidural analgesia with a bolus of 10mL of 0.2% bupivacaine with 2 g/mL of fentanyl over 10 minutes, which was followed by an infusion of the same solution at 8 mL/hour. Five minutes after the catheter placement, she developed ocular paraesthesia and arm numbness on her left side. On examination, she had blepharoptosis and miosis on the left side.
