Four Seasons in Sophia上智大学の四季

館内には本学の言語教育を担う「言語教育研究センター」を設置。1階には「Language Learning Commons(LLC)」(A)を配置し、外国語学習のサポートや留学生と日本人学生の交流の場として活用します。また、800人規模のホールを兼ねる大教室(B)をはじめとした大小さまざまな教室(F・G)や研究室、卒業生の情報交換の場「ソフィアンズ・クラブ」(H)も設けられています。そして、1階エントランスホールには本学の歴史や周辺地域とのつながりを物語る写真や資料、本学の取り組み、学生の活躍や研究成果などを展示(C・D・E)。「ソフィアタワー」は本学の教育・研究や未来に向けたメッセージを知ることができる、「進化し続ける上智大学」の発信機能を担うほか、地域とのつながりを意識した四谷の新たなランドマークとして、活気ある街づくりに貢献していきます。

The Center for Language Education and Research manages language education inside the Sophia Tower with the Language Learning Commons (LLC) providing support for both International and Japanese students on the 1st floor (Pic. A). This new building also has a large-sized classroom (Hall, Pic. B) that holds more than 800 people, as well as other classrooms (Pic. F, G), laboratories and the Sophian’s Club (common room for alumni). The entrance hall displays Sophia’s history and academic achievements of the students (Pic. C, D, E). Sophia Tower represents an evolving Sophia and contributes to the local community as a landmark of Yotsuya.

This building houses the Campus Store and administrative offices such as the Admissions Office and the Center for Student Affairs.

１階には教務・留学・就職活動など、学生生活支援の各部署が集まり、学生を日々サポートしています。入試についてご相談がある方は、入学センターへお立ち寄りください。

Tokyo Halal Deli and Café is a specialized halal food eatery certified by Japan Islamic Trust. Vegetarian Dishes are also available.

ムスリムの学生・教職員の食生活をサポートするハラルフード専門の食堂。ベジタリアン向けメニューも豊富。

Subway is located on the 5F of Building 2. You can make your own healthy sandwich as you like.

野菜たっぷりのヘルシーなサンドイッチを自分好みにオーダーできます。

The menu selection changes monthly and they are well known for their onigiri and fresh bakery.

月ごとにメニューを入れ替えています。喫茶コーナーで販売されているおにぎりや焼きたてパンも人気。

S-CAFÉ by PRONTO is a new shop on the 1F of Building 6 (Sophia Tower) which offers coffee, sandwiches and crepes.

ボリューミーなサンドウィッチと焼きたてクレープ、繊細な味わいのプレミアム・カフェラテが自慢のカフェ。

The auditorium with 800 seats is not only for lectures, but also for hosting international conferences. The exhibition space around the auditorium teaches you the history of Sophia University and the local community.

約800席の教室(ホール)は授業だけでなく、国際会議なども開催できる多目的教室です。教室を取り巻くように設置されたホワイエでは上智大学や地域の歴史を知ることができます。

Open space, known as “Pilotis”, is outside Building 8 and 9. Students often spend their time to relax or chat with their friends here. It’s also popular place for lunch on warm sunny days.

1階部分が吹き抜けになった広場のような空間です。ランチなどで学生が多用していて、「8ピロ」「9ピロ」と親しみを込めて呼ばれています。暖かい時期は、9号館の中庭もランチスポットとしておすすめ。

図書館の窓は、開いた本の形をイメージしています。図書館以外の建物にも同じデザインの窓がありますの

で、ぜひ探してみてください。

体育館には、正課授業のほかに、課外活動団体での利用や個人として利用できる施設があります。地下には柔道場や剣道場、温水プールがあり、１階ではボクシング、ダンス等、２階ではハンドボール、バスケットボール、バレーボール、体操、バドミントン等が行われます。

The cafeteria here offers a variety of menus including lunch sets, light meals, noodles, and dessert.

規模・新しさ・メニュー数ともに1番の学食です。メインコーナーでは定食からデザートまで幅広く提供。

1号館 廊下Corridor, Building 1

This building, constructed in 1932, is the oldest building used as a classroom facility. It survived the Great Tokyo Air Raids in 1945, and has become a historic symbol of Sophia. Please peek in the corridor and take a look at the antique-like interiors.

1932年竣工、設計はスイス人のマックス・ヒンデル。東京大空襲にも耐え、歴史ある建物として、今もその存在感を誇っています。ヨーロッパの修道院を思わせる1階廊下は、上智大学の最も魅力的な場所の一つです。

体育館Gymnasium

Students use the Gymnasium for PE classes, and for club activities such as kendo, boxing, dancing, handball, basketball, volleyball, gymnastic, and badminton.

地下2階から地上9階の11フロアに図書約110万冊と雑誌約11,000誌を所蔵しています。また全国各地、世界各国の80誌ほどの新聞も閲覧することができます。

More than 1 million books, 11 thousand journal publications, and 80 varieties of newspapers are available in this open-access library located from B2 to 9F.

広々とした館内には、視聴覚設備を使用できるAVコーナー、レポート作成に便利なコンピュータルーム、グループ学習室、ラーニング・コモンズなどが設けられています。ラーニング・コモンズには、学生のさまざまな質問を受け付けるスタッフが常駐し、快適な学習環境を整えています。

AV corner and computer rooms, group-learning rooms, and Learning Commons are available. The staff at the Learning Commons is there to answer students’ questions and to give support in their academic fields.

四谷キャンパスのシンボルタワー2号館は、地下3階から地上17階建て。教育・研究・キャンパスライフをサポートする情報関連施設が満載です。

Building 2 was constructed in 2005 and stands 17 stories high with 3 basement levels. It holds various multimedia facilities for education, research and campus life.

同時通訳ブースなど高度な語学学習を支援する環境を整えており、自習に励む学生の姿も見られます。

CALL rooms are fully equipped with simultaneous interpretation systems. Students often spendtheir time studying by themselves here.

真田堀運動場 Sanadabori Field

真田堀運動場には、1周300mのトラックをはじめ、テニス、サッカー、野球、バレーボール、アーチェリー、ゴルフなど幅広いスポーツができるコートや施設があり、体育の授業や部活動に利用されます。

Sanadabori Field has a 300-meter track, tennis courts, a soccer field, a baseball field, volleyball courts, archery fields, and golf ranges fully equipped for PE classes and club activities.

毎年7月初旬には、上智大学と名古屋の南山大学との間で行われる伝統あるスポーツ交流「上南戦」もこの運動場で行われます。現在、真田堀運動場のあるこの場所は、かつては江戸城の外濠がありました。平らなグラウンドは、実は真田濠を埋めて造られたものなのです。

In July, the traditional sports meeting between Sophia and Nanzan Univ. in Nagoya is held in this field. During the Edo period, this place was one of the outer moats of the Edo Castle. The flat field was built by reclamation.

German and is a European-style wooden

building constructed in the late 1800s.

Currently, weddings of alumni are often

officiated by their teachers, the Jesuit

Fathers.

ドイツ語でクルトゥルとは「文

化」、ハイムとは「館」という意味

でカトリックイエズス会の聖堂

です。カトリック大学である上智大学には、

聖職者の教員も多く、休日には恩師の進行

のもと、この聖堂で卒業生が結婚式を挙げ

る光景もよく見られます。

Sophia Goods are available at the Kinokuniya Sophia Square in Building 2. The shop sells various items including pens, notebooks, and key rings. Especially "URUSHI" chopsticks and ballpoint pens are very popular for souvenirs.

大学正面と真田堀運動場を隔てる通り。地元に愛着を持ってもらえるようにと、名づけられました。

The street between the campus and Sanadabori Field

was named Sophia-Dori, so that the residents in the neighborhood could become familiar with Sophia.

Access is not available for visitors. You may take a look from outside.※見学者の方の入館はご遠慮ください。

In 1959, a graduating student of Sophia University planted cherry trees to show graditude to Sophia. They have now become a famous row of cherry trees in Tokyo.

ソフィア通り沿いの土手に立ち並ぶ桜並木は、1959年に上智大学の学生が植えた苗木から始まります。半年後に卒業を控えたある男子学生が、大学への感謝の気持ちを残すため、桜の記念植樹を実現しました。今では都内を代表する桜の名所となっています。
