Open Reach Gateway is a gateway open to all the BT gateways-Retail, Wholesale. Any communication provider which places an order the request moves from the different gateways to the open reach gateway for validations and it is being sent to the back end then a response is being sent to the Trading Partner with an Acknowledgment. Every Communication Provider has specific services as an agreement which is in the form of digital certificate. These sorts of validations are done at different gateways.

Roles and Responsibilities

Database(DB2 UDB) maintenance and support: Administration of more than 40 DB2 UDB database servers New Instance builds OLTP mixed and commodity models. Database creation as per user request. Worked heavily with data movement utilities IMPORT, LOAD, and EXPORT under high volume conditions. Worked heavily on Database restores including redirected restores within production, stage and development environment as per user request. Provide first Level database support for UDB environment. Part of Global UDB DBA team to provide 24x7 support using follow-the-sun support. New Instance creation:

Create instance according to user request like; OLTP/mixed. It mainly includes tasks, disk group creation, user id creation followed by setting up the environmental values, DBM parameters.

Database creation: Creation of database as per the user request (production/development)

includes tasks; creating file system, tablespace, setting up the DB parameters, db catalog, user group creation.

Tuning of database and instance level configuration parameters. Daily and weekly database Maintenance activities such as Backup, Runstats, Reorg and
