Feeding  the  Five  Thousand    

A"er  hearing  some  sad  news,  Jesus  decides  he  needs  4me  to  be  by  himself  so  he  boards  a  boat  to  a  deserted  place  by  himself.  The  crowds  heard  about  Jesus’  whereabouts  and  decided  to  follow  him  on  foot.  

When  Jesus  arrives  on  shore  and  saw  the  crowd,  he  felt  a  great  compassion  for  them  and  decided  to  cure  all  the  sick  people  in  the  crowd.    

It  was  geBng  late,  the  disciples  came  to  Jesus  and  said,  “This  is  a  deserted  place,  the  hour  is  late,  send  the  crowds  away  so  they  may  go  into  the  villages  and  buy  food  for  themselves.”  

Jesus  replied  “They  need  not  go  away;  you  give  them  something  to  eat.”  But  there  wasn’t  enough  food  for  the  large  crowds  “We  have  nothing  to  eat  here  but  five  loaves  and  three  fish.”  “Bring  these  to  me”  said  Jesus.  

Jesus  ordered  the  crowd  to  sit  down.  Taking  the  5  loaves  and  the  two  fish  he  looked  up  to  heaven  then  blessed  and  broke  the  loaves,  and  gave  them  to  the  disciples  to  hand  out.    

The  disciples  handed  the  food  out  to  the  crowds  un4l  everyone  had  eaten  and  was  full.  They  took  up  what  was  le"  over  of  the  broken  pieces,  twelve  baskets  full.  Those  who  ate  were  about  five  thousand  men,  besides  woman  and  children.
