Reactions 1142 - 10 Mar 2007 Bupivacaine/fentanyl Various toxicities following spinal anaesthesia: case report A 28-year-old woman received bupivacaine 8.5mg and fentanyl 20µg as spinal anaesthesia for caesarian section and, 1 hour after anaesthesia, she developed left-sided Horner’s syndrome with blepharoptosis, miosis and enophtalmus [sic]. At the same time, she also had lacrimation, rhinorrhoea and conjunctival injection on the contralateral side. Spontaneous resolution of her contralateral trigeminal parasympathetic manifestations and Horner’s syndrome occurred within 8 hours. Lavi R. Spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery associated with Horner’s syndrome and contralateral trigeminal parasympathetic activation.
