Reactions 823 - 14 Oct 2000 S Naratriptan First report of variant angina pectoris: case report Variant angina pectoris was associated with naratriptan therapy for cluster headache in a 34-year-old man with cardiovascular disease risk factors, including a history of smoking, dyslipidaemia and a familial history of cardiovascular disease. One day after the man commenced therapy with naratriptan [dosage not stated] and metoprolol, he was hospitalised with suspected unstable angina pectoris. During an examination he had chest pain. An ECG was consistent with typical variant angina. At follow-up 6 months later, he was asymptomatic. Allal J, et al.
