Rash: case reportA 59-year-old man developed a rash during treatment
with prasugrel. The man, who had a history of diabetes andunstable angina, underwent placement of a drug-elutingstent. Then he was started on prasugrel [dosage and routenot stated], which was added to his aspirin. Five days later,he developed a full-body rash. The rash was diffuse, pruritic, exanthematous and maculopapular. It spared hismucous membranes. Results of his histologicalexamination were consistent with a hypersensitivityreaction. The patient was switched from prasugrel toclopidogrel. The rash subsided and did not recur withclopidogrel therapy.
