Reactions 1423 - 13 Oct 2012 Prasugrel Rash: case report A 59-year-old man developed a rash during treatment with prasugrel. The man, who had a history of diabetes and unstable angina, underwent placement of a drug-eluting stent. Then he was started on prasugrel [dosage and route not stated], which was added to his aspirin. Five days later, he developed a full-body rash. The rash was diffuse, pruritic, exanthematous and maculopapular. It spared his mucous membranes. Results of his histological examination were consistent with a hypersensitivity reaction. The patient was switched from prasugrel to clopidogrel. The rash subsided and did not recur with clopidogrel therapy.
