★Quinapril

First report of visual hallucinations in an elderlypatient: case report

A 92-year-old woman developed visual hallucinationsduring treatment with quinapril for hypertension.

After 18 days’ treatment with quinapril 2.5mg eachmorning, the woman presented with a 3-day history ofcolourful and symmetrical visual hallucinations. She sawpatterns of roses on her food, neatly stacked cans at thesupermarket that she could walk through and a row of pinkhouses in her street.
