Interactive dispenser for the postal ser-vices

Automated Post Box Machine (APBM) is a dispenser which performs the duties of the post office.

In busy lifestyle time is precious, all the services are becom-ing flexible and user friendly. The idea of APBM came with the observing prob-lems with the conventional post office services and then we taught of how can we make a vending machine which can perform some tasks like The form was inspired from the Indian post logo and pigeon which was an ancient messenger.

UMii

UMii is an interactive mobile casing which changes the color and give vibration senses as part of interaction with another device The project was started to make a product out of theme ‘you and me’, it was also named after it. The process started from very begin-ning of understanding the holistic meaning beyond the two simple words. Simplicity as we state and understand, can lead us to a sober definition of both words. However one of the first feelings we had when thinking about them was “dis-tance”. Distance was perceived as foreign, excluding and negative. On the other hand, we encountered positive outcomes that described exactly the opposite feelings. Things like attraction, be-ing together, natural, constant and balanced came up to float in the brainstorm. The main domains used for commu-nication are like phone/video calling, mes-saging. Which become common, then we started with exploring the other senses like touch (vibration) and simple form for con-veying feelings.

Page 14: bhagath_UX_short

UMii

What was triggering such different results? What were we missing in between?Interaction, attraction, dependency, inequali-ty, competition, balance, connection.

No boundaries, no rules, no judgment. We feel people are so aware of being part of anything and everything, that we came to a very simple result, such as our initial anal-ysis. Potential is the initial power of being able to create, to become.

Finally the product out of it is a set of mo-bile casings which can be paired. The LED color belt of a casing changes when the other paired casing being tapped. It can also translate the data through vibration, as the touch of one case turns to vibration of the paired. It can be specified colors for the moods and completely open to personalize the usage. It does not have a bigger mean-ing and elaborate messages but the simple sense of emotion. It was powered by the mobile and uses the NFS technology to work.

VETTIKO

Product to make the usage of sellotape hassle free.

Vettiko is an in hand sellotape dis-penser.

Every time when we use the sellotape we come across the problem of finding its end after every use. Some times it takes a lots of time. The heavy dispensers are difficult to carry, Blade does not have covers and they are confined to a partic-ular size of tape. To make this process simple and to overcome the problems using existing dispensers we came with a solution VET-TIKO.

SOLIDWORKS MODEL

VETTIKO is a dispenser on take kind un-like the tape on dispenser. It is mounted over the tape which can be rolled over tape. Push button given for opening the blade when ever needed which is much safer. It can hold the tape firmly using the spring. Finding the edge is easier, Af-ter every cutting the edge falls over the bar and stick to it. Portable handy device easy to carry.

Modeling was done in solid works. Prototyping done using the 3D printer

DHARA

A Product or an Accessory for tap to reduce wastage of water, targeting households as our concerned users.

DHARA is an water level sensing device.

In a busy lifestyle people give less impor-tance to many things in which wastage is predominant and we started with how to re-duce water wastage. Even people try to pre-vent the wastage of water they can not spend time on it. DHARA is the product which helps to save water. TEAM 4 members DURATION 3 months

DHARA is an attachment to the tap, Which helps to sense the water level and alert the user. Shutting the water flow when the con-tainer is full is or first priority but it costs more for our target audience, So the solution turned as alerting system.CHALLENGE - Finding the level of water in container CONSTRAINT - Varying size of bucket

-Experiments done using ARDUINO Circuit-Ultrasonic sensor used to find the water level-Programming done to analyse the difference in water level-Infrared sensor used to detect the flow of water, acts as trigger.

STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS

WORKING - Acoustic sensors senses the raise in water level, When there is no big dif-ference in the consecutive readings buzzer rings to alert the user. DHARA works when there is a flow of water from the tap, which detects the raising level of water. When there is no raise in level it alerts the user through a buzzer.

-DHARA can find the level of water continuously-No matter how much is the size of the container is -Battery operated-Portable-Filter

BLISTRO

BLISTRO is a packaging for the liquid med-icine

Most of the people prefer pills instead of syr-ups because of different problems with them. It was the same opinion found in the survey. So, brief started with an idea of the desirabil-ity of pills into syrup.

CHALLENGE - Usability CONSTRAINT - quantity of syrup

Generally syrup comes in a plastic bottle in a large quantity. Wastage of medicine is more in case of common syrups like cough syrup. Carrying a syrup bottle in journey is a difficult than pills due to the leakage problem. Measuring the dosage is also a task while using a syrup bottle. A measuring cup or a spoon is required for measurement. Using the BLISTRO these problems can be solved.

SURFING BOARD CROSS SECTION

ROOF RACKS

SURFING BOARDS AERO SURF PADS are the surfing board pads fixed on the roof racks to protect the board from hard rack surface and safe transportation. Project was done as part of TED MINT 2014 workshop at campus Var-namo,Sweden. The existing surf pads delivered an effective solution when they were de-signed, however a few characteristics might not have been taken into account, such as the excess of material. The existing system is simple, but not necessarily confortable to adapt. On the other hand, we evaluat-ed the need for having a surface touching the whole board at the time of being tied down to the bar. We then realised that the full length of the cushion was not needed; we started looking into a new design idea. We could reduce the amount of material in the product, by providing only a couple of touch points on the board when installed on the roof rack. This way the hole mid-dle piece could be avoided. We were then tackling the environmental facet and also emphasizing the 90% air resistance drop

BRANDING

ON SQUARE BARON WING BAR

The Aero Surf Cushion offers a reduction on its principal materials by 84% in the foam and 39% in the fabric used. Pay-ing tribute to the Wing Bar, we focused on reducing the surface touching the bar by 70%, letting the original design of the bar glow. It was made eco friendly using less and recycled materials on the other hand it does not obstruct the air flow at all. The gap between the pads allow free flow. It could be adjusted to any size of board accordingly. The rubber grip at the bottom gives a good grip not to slide on the bar. The branding is made small and cute, which is always visible even the board is on.

TRAFFIC MOTIVATIONAL MODEL

Page 39: bhagath_UX_short

Traffic motivational model is named as Na-tional Road Safety program is designed for people to follow and practice traffic rules for systematic and safer commutation.

After making the research regarding the awareness traffic rules in different sec-tions of people. We categorized into three types strict follower, hare brained, influ-enced by others. The whole program is of four stages-Awareness It is a combination of campaigning, promotional events and interactive work-shops.-Learning It is a program which was intended to taught the rules in a interactive and ed-ucating them in an interesting manner. -Research It is combination of making survey , policy making and technology intervention in the traffic management.-Help It is a platform for the accident vic-tims to get any kind of support and a fund raiser for the needy.
