    6. Description of content: This draft technical regulation specifies the requirementsstated in the Gulf standard GSO "High Fructose Syrup (42% and 55%)" under clauses 7 &8 (packaging & labelling) as mandatory requirements. It specifies that the product shallbe filled in suitable, clean, dry and hermetically sealed containers which protect theproduct from moisture and shall be comply with the Gulf standard GSO 839 "Foodpackages - part 1: general requirements".

    It also describes label requirements such as:

    1. It should be without prejudice to what has been mentioned in Gulf Standard GSO9 "Labeling of prepackaged foods", and GSO 150 "Expiration Periods of FoodProducts".

    2. The following shall be declared on the label of the product: The concentration of fructose (42% or 55%). The source of starch.

    7. Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems whereapplicable: To maintain consumer protection and food safety.
