Aseptic meningitis following intrathecaladministration: case report

A 37-year-old woman developed a headache and decreasedconsciousness 6 hours after receiving spinal anaesthesia withintrathecal bupivacaine 10mg and fentanyl during caesareansection. Her Glasgow coma scale score was 7 and she hadbilateral ocular bobbing. CSF analysis revealed an elevatedleucocyte count with 90% neutrophils. She receivedvancomycin, cefepime and dexamethasone, and she hadcompletely recovered at 48 hours.Alonso-Bejar P, et al.
