My role here as a welding inspector is to monitor Contractor activity to ensure compliance to applicable Codes and Standards. Review ITP and test packs, witness NDT, sign off on same after completion. Verify correct materials and welder certification is current and is to Site specification. Daily inspections both onsite and offsite as required. Monitor WPQR’s and records from Contractor information is to ITP and Client requirements. Attend daily prestarts and safety meetings, comply to drug and alchol testing / screening on random basis.

Worked offshore drilling MODU, semi submersible and jack-up types throughout Australasia and the South East Asian regions. Duties included rig welding, supervision of contract welding crews, setting tasks for individual personnel after evaluating skill levels, assist Rig Engineers on welding, fitting, machining tasks and schedules, conduct welder training, liase with NDT Technicians and act as go between to project team engineers and rig management.

Bolting and tensioning of flange joints both gasket and RTJ fit-ups. Inspect gasket, stud, nut for grade compliance. Check alignment and torquing procedure by Sub-Contract personnel on the Drilling Rig as required, witness and sign-off on completed tasks.

Review raisede face fittings and mark-up for re-machining to comply to ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2

Record NDT results and complile reports on rig equipment as required.
