Sept 2013 – CurrentIchthys Onshore LNG Project DarwinQA/QC Welding InspectorWorking for site management company, Inpex has charged JKC with building a two train gas processing facility. My role here as a welding inspector is to monitor Contractor activity to ensure compliance to applicable Codes and Standards. Review ITP and test packs, witness NDT, sign off on same after completion. Verify correct materials and welder certification is current and is to Site specification. Daily inspections both onsite and offsite as required. Monitor WPQR’s and records from Contractor information is to ITP and Client requirements. Attend daily prestarts and safety meetings, comply to drug and alchol testing / screening on random basis.

LEIGHTON CONTRACTORS Feb 2013 – Aug 2013Gorgon Gas Plant, Barrow Island WASenior QA/QC Welding InspectorSupervision of welding inspectors, delegate tasks to match skills and ability of personnel. Liase with Management and Engineering to ensure maximum team performance. Audit internal files for compliance with Client specifications and ITP. Complete field weld inspections and sign off, maintain records for full traceability, record heat numbers and weld data to be used in the fabrication of test packs and MDR’s. Direct welding personnel on WPS to ensure complete understanding of welding procedures, interpass temperatures. Communicate with Client Inspectors, Engineers when required.

Provide supervision to Contractors, review welding practices and implement changes, welder training and witness procedures, inspections on and offsite fabrication and welding, machining, review documentation and sign off MDR’s. Witness flange and spooling repair as required and sign-off for compliance. Witness flange joint bolt-ups, tensioning procedure and alignment on the Galperti flange joint process systems in the plant. Liase to engineering personnel as required, ensure adherance to Codes and Standards, both Australian and International and also RTA specifications.

Focal point for all welding and related subject matters in the Yarwin plant complex. Update documentation in RTA systems relating to high-pressure spooling, flange repairs, flange face machining as required.

Liaise with NDT technicians to ensure reporting is completed and all results are acceptable to Code and Standards. Support to the Project Team on progress of tasks and completion dates.

DIAMOND OFFSHORE 1998 – July 2006Rig Welder / Welding Inspector / Supervisor / NDT Technician

Worked offshore drilling MODU, semi submersible and jack-up types throughout Australasia and the South East Asian regions. Duties included rig welding, supervision of contract welding crews, setting tasks for individual personnel after evaluating skill levels, assist Rig Engineers on welding, fitting, machining tasks and schedules, conduct welder training, liase with NDT Technicians and act as go between to project team engineers and rig management.

Bolting and tensioning of flange joints both gasket and RTJ fit-ups. Inspect gasket, stud, nut for grade compliance. Check alignment and torquing procedure by Sub-Contract personnel on the Drilling Rig as required, witness and sign-off on completed tasks.

Review raisede face fittings and mark-up for re-machining to comply to ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2

Record NDT results and complile reports on rig equipment as required.
